  • Design Week 2026, what a week! So many conversations, demos and moments that made one thing very clear: AI is accelerating everything… but humans are still the center of it all. The biggest takeaways: * Don’t be afraid to stay curious. * Curiosity is what turns tools into breakthroughs. * It’s what helps us ask better questions, design better experiences and build things that actually matter. To everyone who showed up, shared ideas, challenged perspectives and pushed the conversation forward - thank you. And a huge thank you to all of our speakers and organizers Christina Wharton and Michelle (Minotti) Rorie. Pulling something like this together is no small feat and the impact was felt. Already looking forward to what we all build next 🚀 📷 Missael Photography

Design is changing. The role we play, the tools we use, and the expectations of our work are all shifting in real time. Design Week gave our team the space to explore that together through connection, learning, and inspiration. From AI and tooling to unexpected perspectives, we leaned into how our work is evolving. Most importantly, it was a focus on our people. Creating space to learn from each other, be inspired, and reconnect with what we love about this work is what gives energy back to the craft. I was on maternity leave this year but proud to have shaped the agenda and details with our amazing project team. From intentionally choosing a design-forward hotel, to thoughtfully curating speakers and topics, to pushing for “wow factor” moments, and much more. Huge thank you to Michelle (Minotti) Rorie for being such a strong partner and bringing it all to life!! And to our incredible team members Abrielle Dunn Palmer, Adrienne Colloton, PMP, Bahador K., everyone who signed up to lead sessions, and more! 📷 Missael Gonzalez

Last week I had the honor of chatting with the LinkedIn design team for their 2026 Design Week. Amy Roberts hosted the conversation, and provided many thoughtful questions. I shared some of what we learned from designers and creative folks like Paula Scher, David Sedaris, the band OK Go, as well as some of my own lessons from being a dad to two amazing kids. Many thanks to Amy and Sarah Alpern for inviting me, and Michelle (Minotti) Rorie, Abrielle Dunn Palmer, and others on the LinkedIn team for coordinating the event and making me feel welcome.

It was lovely catching up with my LinkedIn friends this week at our annual Design Week. Some of my top reflections from the week: ⚓ In the era of all things GenAI, design craft and anchoring on the human experience will remain of utmost importance. Tooling is simply a means to an end, but definitely not the complete picture. 🤖 Cross-functional collaboration is essential to arrive at strong definitions of 'good'/'quality' for LLM evals. 🎨 Setting aside time to explore creative hobbies beyond our various screens/ devices is, not only incredibly energizing and healthy, but can also give the mind space to wander, and ultimately help spark inspiration for product innovation. Grateful to our leadership for giving us time to connect and reflect on the direction of our design and research practice! #DesignWeek #LinkedInLife

Hack Week isn’t about shipping code. It’s about shipping possibility. Last week reminded me why I love building products. Not because everything was perfect. Not because every idea shipped. But because for a few days, titles disappeared and curiosity took over. What I saw: • Designers coding • Engineers storytelling • PMs prototyping • AI used as a teammate, not a buzzword • Big ideas that don’t fit a typical roadmap getting the space to thrive Hack Week is what happens when you remove: ❌ fear of failure ❌ org gravity ❌ “that’s not in scope” And replace it with: ✅ play ✅ velocity ✅ collective ambition ✅ “what if?” Not every idea is meant to ship, but each one stretches our thinking about what’s possible next. That’s the real outcome. Huge respect to everyone who showed up with big ideas and the courage to build in public. 🏆And to my hacker teammates Nabeeda Bakali-Abrar and Chethan N Thipperudrappa 💙 This is how the future quietly get’s created. What was the boldest idea you saw (or built) at a Hackathon? 🚀

My task list is a mile long. My team is waiting. And we’ve definitely ordered too much takeout this week. Hack Week at LinkedIn is officially wrapping up, and we are about to hit "submit" on our project. I’d tell anyone else on my team that this time is "worth it" without hesitation. But practicing what I preach was way harder than I thought. It brought back that familiar "mom guilt", that nagging feeling that by focusing on one thing, I’m failing everywhere else. But if I don't model how to protect space for creativity, I can’t expect my team to do the same. Fun fact: I wrote this with our HackWeek thought partner app that turns those fuzzy ideas and "maybe I should post about this" into LinkedIn-ready, hopefully not cringey, posts.

I code for hours but never share any of it. The gap between "cool thing I figured out" and "LinkedIn post about it" was too wide. So I built something last night to fix it. CodeStory is a Claude Code skill that tracks your sessions automatically, captures the interesting moments, and generates posts when you're ready. One command to install. It captures the good stuff as you code, then type /CodeStory to turn it into a post. https://lnkd.in/gc_QD8Xh Would love to hear what features would make this more useful for you.

I had the opportunity last week to host students from Claremont McKenna College at LinkedIn and share my career path in Product Design. We discussed how AI is changing our roles at LinkedIn and redefining what it means to be a tastemaker today. An inspiring experience all around, thank you Marieke McCloskey, Gemma Sykes and Grace Park, MSW and fellow panelists Franklin Marsh, Shreya P. for an incredible event, and to LinkedIn Life and LinkedIn Design 💙
