The gods are silent. Rivellon bleeds. New powers stir. Built by the team who brought you Baldur’s Gate 3, we unchained our ambitions to bring you an RPG with greater breadth & depth than ever before. At least, that’s the plan. Check out our Divinity Announcement Trailer on YouTube here: https://lnkd.in/etbCCMVT (For adult audiences only)

i have immense respect for Sven and for Larian as a studio. What genuinely astonishes me, though, is despite just how enormous Baldurs Gate 3 was, sven has claimed that Divinity will be an even bigger game. BG3 was an incredible near impossible achievement, but also the game was so vast that, in some areas, it didnt reach the same level of polish and cohesion that Divinity OS2 had during specially during release and the scale of the game meant that there would always be. If what Sven has said is true and this Divinity game is even larger in scope than BG3, that naturally raises some concerns about overall smoothness, pacing, and longterm polish. Scale is exhilarating, but its also where complexity can quietly erode refinement if it runs unchecked. That said, I cant help but feel very optimistic. More than anything, I am genuinely glad to see Larian stepping away from D&D, Wizards of the Coast, and Hasbro. Divinity has always felt like their purest creative expression, and in my opinion, Larian deserved far more freedom than the D&D license ever allowed them. if this is Larian returning to Divinity fully unrestrained and armed with everything they learned from BG3 then the potential here is enormous.

Please, please, please use the DOS2 combat model. BG3 was a totally fantastic accomplishment in story-telling and world-building, but I honestly thought the D&D combat was a step back from DOS2. Hot take, but there you go.

I have Hundreds of Hours on both DOS2 and BG3! "Adult Audiences only"! Indeed! As much as my Stomach Churned while watching the trailer, Can't be more excited for this! Also, Is Fane in this one? Need this Answer! 😀

We need some answers! - Where does the game sit on the Divinity timeline? - Does the story involve Lucian in any way, directly or indirectly, given that the concept of "Divinity" has historically been tied to his status? - Does it take place before or after the disappearance of Source? - Is Source still a core part of the world and gameplay? - Is Rivellon still the main setting, or are we exploring a different part of the world?

One word - goosebumps...

This looks absolutely FANTASTIC. New GOTY incoming? 👀

I loved the way you announced this game, and the brutality of the trailer certainly makes an impact. And although I wasn't familiar with this series, after playing Baldur's Gate III, I'll definitely be buying this game on release day.

Had a feeling this was coming. I enjoyed Divinity OS 2. With more than 1000 hours logged, BG3 was the ONLY game I played for the whole of 2024, was part of the open beta, and an early modder.. A bigger, better Divinity sounds fantastic.

I’m blown away by the quality of this cinematic. I’m really curious how many people worked on it. The level of detail is incredible! And from a narrative standpoint, you actually made me feel that moment of being pushed away by the crowd during this cheerful celebration of life… or Death? 😄🙃
