Kevin Castillo’s Post

After more than 45 years and five cities in the tech industry, I am retiring and feeling incredibly grateful. I started as an IBM intern in 1980, which became nearly 20 years with IBM, followed by an amazing run at Microsoft beginning in 2002 (about a dozen years).  I finished my career with a fast-growing, entrepreneurial company that has since become a globally respected technology consulting firm. To the leaders who took a chance on me, the mentors who invested in me, and the teammates who made the hard work fun—thank you. I learned something from every team and every project, and I am proud of what we built together. Next up: somewhere warm, sunny, and close enough to hear the ocean. More time for family, friends, golf, staying fit and whatever I am curious about next. Mahalo and Aloha to all for being part of the journey. It has been one heck of a ride—and I’ll be cheering you on from the sidelines. Today is Tuesday, but for me it’s Aloha Friday…today and every day. #Retirement #Grateful #NextChapter #Leadership #IBM #Microsoft #Quisitive

Kevin, first off, congratulations. Absolutely incredible and what a run. Back in 2005, you took a chance on a fast-talking guy with zero sales experience who was trying to relocate from Seattle to Dallas with Microsoft - and for you to take that chance changed the trajectory of my career, as you then connected me with Paul Kiley and the rest is history! THANK YOU for that! Moreover, your leadership of the "STU" back then and your even-keeled, thoughtful leadership style was a great culture to be a part of. All the best in your new chapter!!!!!

Congrats Kevin! I remember stopping on my drive from Seattle to the south to meet with you (in Denver). Think it was 1999.I had a moving van parked at a hotel with a family and 2 dogs waiting on me. No certainty if I would have my next position at IBM locked up but I was moving across the country with or without it. You offered me a position that night and I learned so much from you in those early days! So just a BIG thank you!

You are one of the best I have had the chance to work with. Well deserved and what an amazing career you have had and the impact you have had on so many of us.

Best news! Glad to have spent some of those years working along side you and call you my friend.

Kevin, when you told me this was coming a while back I was nothing but excited for you, if not a little jealous :). You always brought the spirit of Aloha to everything you did - thankful for many years working alongside you and the fun we had while handling challenges. Your "always positive" signoff has stuck with me over the years, and it was truly your style when we worked together. Congratulations pal!

I know our path crossed only briefly. But I had enormous respect for you. You were most definitely one of the nicest and capable guys I met at Quisitive. Enjoy the retirement. Aren’t you too young to retire? But You earned it.
