Targeting the “who” isn’t enough anymore. Age, gender, past behaviors. They tell you who someone is, not whether they’re ready to engage. Because receptivity isn’t static. It shifts throughout the day, from early morning scrolls to late-night decisions. And in a world where people see thousands of ads daily, relevance in the moment is what breaks through. That’s where mindset comes in. Understanding what someone is thinking and feeling in real time can be the difference between a meaningful connection and a missed moment. At GumGum, we’re transforming media with a mindset-first approach. #MindsetMatters

NO ONE IS SAYING YOU SHOULD NOT BE TIRED OF POSTING! This the Power of Posting: -Repetition builds recognition -Repetition builds recognition -Repetition builds recognition One of the fastest ways to weaken your brand is inconsistency. Showing up today, disappearing for weeks, and then returning again creates a gap in trust and visibility. Consistency isn’t just about posting frequently. It’s about staying present in the minds of your audience. brandingforcoconutheads #Day 3

You should be borderline obsessed with learning more about your target audience... obsessed! You should be starting conversations with your target audience so often that they have no other choice but to think of you for certain subject matters.

Sometimes the most meaningful conversations don’t happen with adults. They happen with kids. Recently I noticed something about my daughter. She understands my emotions faster than many adults around me. She notices when I’m quiet. She senses when something is on my mind. And she responds with empathy, kindness, and honesty. It made me realize something important. Sometimes it’s not age that makes someone wiser. It’s the ability to truly understand another person’s feelings. Interestingly, this reminds me a lot of social media marketing. The best marketers don’t simply create content. They listen. They observe how audiences respond. They understand what resonates and what doesn’t. Because in the end, whether in life or in marketing, 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞. What do you think matters more in marketing today — creativity or understanding the audience? #SocialMediaMarketing #AudienceInsights #MarketingStrategy #DigitalMarketing #HumanCenteredMarketing

Low-quality products used to go viral on TikTok Shop. Not anymore. Buyers are more skeptical now. The products winning today usually: • Solve a problem • Create emotion • Tap into a niche • Or trigger a “Whoa I need that” reaction. Scroll-stopping products matter more than ever.

I've never had someone fall asleep while I was presenting before. Until today. The topic was digital strategy and building relevance with your audience. Hugely relevant in today's world. I had mapped out a clear plan that defined the team's digital universe, outlined a targeted approach by channel and built content pillars that will drive connection with their target audience. It was a significant body of work, and still he fell asleep before the end. In his defense he is 16 months old and had a temperature of 39.2 degrees! The reality for working parents is that sometimes these two worlds collide and you're forced to present with a sick baby on your lap. The reality for brands is that no matter how strong your content is, if you're talking to the wrong audience it just won't land. #digitalmarketing #drinksindustry #workingmom

Curious how others approach this: When you’ve been marketing the same product for years, without much change to the experience, how do you make it feel fresh again? Messaging? New experiences? A different audience? What tends to move the needle in your world?

The prevailing advice for reaching a wider audience often suggests leaning towards the mainstream. However, a more resonant message is emerging: embrace your niche. In a world with eight billion people, focusing on what makes you unique is key. Authenticity attracts genuine connection. Your 'weird' thing? Someone, somewhere, will love it. The internet is vast enough to find your people. Don't dilute your message to fit a mold. Create something wholly you. #NicheMarketing #Authenticity #ContentCreation #PersonalBranding #CreatorEconomy

Why Identical Reach Doesn’t Produce Identical Results Two campaigns can deliver identical reach. Same audience. Same frequency. Same CPM. And still produce entirely different outcomes. Because reach measures distribution — not experience. It tells us how many people had the opportunity to see the message, not how they actually encountered it. Context is the multiplier. Some environments create the conditions for attention, comprehension, and memory. Others deliver little more than passive exposure. So while two campaigns may look equivalent on paper, they rarely perform that way in reality. And in a landscape defined by attention scarcity, the difference between being seen and being processed is what ultimately drives impact.

You’re not marketing to an audience. You’re speaking to one real person — someone with dreams, fears, and emotions. The moment you stop trying to “reach everyone” and start connecting with that one person… your message hits differently. It resonates. It converts. Because people don’t respond to broad messaging — they respond to feeling seen. If you’re struggling to figure out what to say or how to say it, that’s usually the missing piece. Relevance in the moment is what actually drives action. Knowing when someone is ready matters just as much as who they are. 👏
