GTA 6 from Rockstar Games is set to be the biggest launch in the history of the medium when it arrives November 19. And yet millions of players still won't have access to it on day one, for reasons that say a lot about where the industry is heading. There's no PC port at launch, keeping the game console-only for now on PlayStation and XBOX. Take-Two Interactive doesn't sell in Russia, where regulators are moving to ban it outright. And a growing wave of age-verification laws, including in Australia, will gate access to online play. Where should the line sit: is age verification a necessary safeguard, or a barrier that pushes players toward unregulated workarounds? Full breakdown: https://lnkd.in/gdHwsctM
There should never be an age verification. The rating for the game will be on the box in the the digital stores. It's up to PARENTS to regulate the games their kids play.
There’s zero detail on if multiplayer even exists. Release consoles including if it’ll immediately release on PC or not has also not been announced.
Don't care. Haven't even played V. Saints Row always looked a lot more fun.
I guarantee that with that kind of move, that game would be the biggest flop of all time. Furthermore, COD MW 4 is going to beat it.
So no news here really. Rockstar games are always released on consoles first and age verification was always there. Australia was also always very strict about age verification, and Russia can thank their dictator for this. Another drama out of nothing
