💫 We are pleased to share that our project InvestMonitor has been selected to participate in the Ideathon of the civic tech competition Act to Drive Change, implemented by the Eastern Europe Foundation with the support of the European Union. This is the next step in a multi-stage competition that includes an Ideathon, an acceleration program for selected finalists, and a final Demo Day. Ahead of us are several days of intensive work and pitching sessions together with mentors and teams developing civic tech solutions for communities across Ukraine. 📊 For our team, this Ideathon is an opportunity to further strengthen InvestMonitor as a tool that helps communities and businesses speak to investors in the language of data and visualization.

At TechCrunch Disrupt, David Hall joined Amanda Silberling, Tawni L. Nazario-Cranz, and Anh-Tho Chuong onstage to debate the importance of place in today's tech landscape (spoiler: it still matters) and discuss what happens when founders build where their industry expertise and local advantage intersect — what we like to call "founder-market-geography fit." 🦀 Every now and then, a conference talk becomes more than just a talk. It becomes a story. A piece of community lore. 👉 For us, that moment came in 2024, when Lars Bergstrom (Director of Engineering at Google) shared a single, staggering statistic: rewriting C++ services in Rust resulted in a ">2x decrease" in the effort required to build and maintain them. ⚡️ What happened next was incredible to watch. The talk didn't just stay in the room; it sparked a global conversation that showcased the power of sharing real-world data. 🔥It went viral on developer hubs like Hacker News and Reddit, igniting passionate debates among thousands of engineers. 🔥It was picked up by major tech publications like The Register, taking the "Rust vs. C++" productivity discussion mainstream. 🔥It was celebrated within our own ecosystem, with the Rustacean Station podcast hosting a follow-up interview to dive even deeper. 💪 This is the "Experience" we are so passionate about fostering. It’s a testament to what happens when you bring the community's leading experts together to share their genuine insights. It proves that the conversations that start at Rust Nation UK don't end when the event does - they go on to shape the entire industry. Were you there for Lars talk in 2024? What’s the most impactful conference talk you’ve ever seen? 👇 Make sure you're there for any viral moments this year! Early Bird tickets are on sale now! #RustLang #RustNationUK #Throwback

A great experience at the HMG Strategy Executive Leadership Summit Charlotte. It is becoming clear that marketing AI as workforce reduction investment strategy is counterproductive at best. AI changes what professionals do, but does not replace them. The future for graduates of UNC Charlotte College of Computing and Informatics is bright! #hmgcioclt University of North Carolina at Charlotte
