Been checking the news since it was announced. We really need more XCOM-like games.

Can't seem to log into any of EA's titles (1-2 years now). EA support are radio silent

Permadeath + strong personalities + squad dynamics that can actually fall apart — that combination changes everything. It shifts the focus from winning fights to managing people. And that’s a very different emotional experience. Also interesting how much pressure this puts on character design itself. When players can lose someone permanently, every silhouette, every detail, every readable trait suddenly matters more. You’re not just building assets — you’re building attachments. We’ve seen a lot of hybrids fail because cinematic ambition and systemic gameplay rarely evolve at the same speed. If they manage to keep those two in sync, this could push the whole category forward.

Exciting to see Electronic Arts (EA), Bit Reactor, and Lucasfilm Games pushing deeper into tactical gameplay with Star Wars Zero Company . Strong example of how collaboration + bold design choices are shaping the next wave of strategy experiences—exactly the kind of evolution Game Centralen is tracking.

When every squad choice carries weight and permadeath shapes the story, it mirrors how our human-interface platforms turn decisions into lived experiences. Looking forward, EA is welcome to complete this new gaming experience with the Haute Rapture Recliner, merging strategy, consequence, and presence into a fully virtual immersive environment wip
