The future of food is more than just a trend; it’s a transformation. At the Economist Impact Events Future of Food Summit, one thing stood out: real progress comes from shared action. For farmers, solutions for the future need to make sense financially right now. Innovations must be designed to solve challenges on a large scale. This depends on partnerships that start on the farm and continue all the way to your table. Thanks to Leonardo Aguiar, Geert Maesmans, Sandrine Chiron, Katrin Cotter, and everyone advancing science-led innovation and collaboration to shape the future of our food system. #EconFood

Honestly, this is so real. You can’t talk about the “future of food” in big visionary terms if it doesn’t make financial sense for farmers right now. If it’s not profitable or practical on the ground, it won’t last. Solutions have to be scalable, not just cool ideas on a slide deck. And this only works if everyone’s aligned, from the farm to the consumer. Real change isn’t just about innovation. It’s about collaboration that actually works in real life.

Strong message from Cargill. Real transformation only happens when innovation works commercially at scale. Shared action across the supply chain — from farm to end user — is needed to deliver measurable impact. Without industry-wide collaboration we can’t build resilient, future-ready systems to safeguard our farming and food sectors.

A table full of food is the final receipt of decisions made far away from it.

Great perspective. The future of food truly lies in collaborative innovation—where farmers, industry, and science work together to create solutions that are both sustainable and economically viable.

Big transformations only happen when everyone in the value chain moves together. Great discussion to spotlight.
