Today we announced the nationwide expansion of Magic Apron's in-store capabilities. Customers and associates can now access guidance tailored to their local store, ask questions using text, voice-to-text or images, and quickly find products using real-time aisle and bay information. Behind this experience is the work of associates across engineering, infrastructure, cloud, data, cybersecurity, UX, product, and operations. One of the most rewarding parts of our careers is building intuitive experiences that directly help our customers and associates, and Magic Apron is a great example. Sincere congratulations to everyone who helped bring this capability to our customers across more than 2,000 U.S. stores. https://lnkd.in/edQdT5_k
Real-time aisle and bay lookup is the detail that makes this land. Most AI rollouts stall because they don't solve a specific enough problem. Ones that stick remove a real friction point, not add a feature.
Congratulations to you and your team, Angie! What I really like about Magic Apron isn’t simply the use of AI—it’s how you’ve connected AI with Home Depot’s knowledge, store information and the actual customer experience. That’s where AI moves from interesting technology to a real operating advantage. Impressive work by you and the Home Depot team.
Congratulations, Angie, to you and the entire Home Depot team on the nationwide expansion of Magic Apron. Integrating localized guidance, image input, and real-time aisle and bay information is an impressive step forward in modernizing the in-store customer experience. Are you also exploring a fully voice-conversational, 100% hands-free experience for older adults, people with limited mobility, customers using crutches, and parents carrying babies or caring for young children? Such an experience could also support hygiene, intelligent contextual recommendations, and valuable customer experience analytics. This is an area we are actively developing at XMARTVISION, and I would welcome the opportunity to connect and share our vision.
I'll be looking for a connection between the store and rentals. For example I'm building a foundation which requires two pallets of high strength concrete. To make the job easier I could rent a 10 cu ft mixer which is available at the rental department D78. There are many more scenarios like renting a flat bed truck to transport the cement and mixer.
I'm just trying to give me a job at Home Depot and trust me I have jumped through every hoop that one has to jump through these days to try and get one of these types of jobs and not just with the Home Depot. It's next to impossible to get a job in retail. I maybe quote unquote overqualified whatever that means because of the 20 plus years experience I have in every level of retail. It's almost foreign to me try to get back into this race which I walked away from over 20 years to pursue a career in the film industry. I'm a professional makeup artist and I've been working in the entertainment industry for 22 years. Life reared its head and I find myself now back in this race trying to get a "regular" job. Perhaps it could just be my age on top of the way one has to go about applying. Back in the day was so much easier, fill out the application bring a copy of your resume physically give it to management oftentimes an interview right on the spot, start tomorrow. Not anymore. Everything has to be done online, the chances of my application and resume looked at is next to nothing. Personal walk-in follow-ups I have found seem to be almost bothering because I have tried. I thought maybe it was just Home Depot so I did walk in follow-ups to every place I applied to which has been at least 20 with the same outcome and told the same exact you have to go online blah blah blah? Anyway thanks for letting me post my rant
Congratulations, always leading from the front in the retail world. No more trying to Google with limited service while I’m in the store 💃🏻
This will help so many associates and customers alike!
Game changing 🏋
Hmm only thing is you need to modify the apron cause the circle of beliefs is not being followed by a number of stores and homedepot canada head office seems nor to care they are not living up to the circle or triangle
The 2,000-store part is what caught my attention right away. Local guidance is only useful if inventory, location data, product knowledge, and the associate workflow agree in the moment of truth. That's a big accomplishment! It's a much harder problem than putting a conversational interface on top. The cross-functional team behind this is the real story. Congratulations to everyone who pulled this together! 👏
