I'd be curious as to how putting data centers in space becomes cost effective when factoring in the difficulty of maintenance, especially with increased radiation posing a danger to semiconductor performance. The difficulties in maintaining orbital data centers might make amortizing the cost over a long time horizon almost impossible. I'm sure that's the whole ballgame here but I'll believe it if and when I see it! I think the true value play might be the jurisdictional and governance angle- data centers in space can stay outside of government spheres of influence and remain autonomous from an ownership/privacy perspective, allowing for more autonomy from the data center owner in who gets to use the GPU/CPU and for what.
