Really happy and excited to announce that I have started at Publisher Collective as Chief Revenue Officer. Having worked as a publisher and for publishers for most of my career I couldn't be happier to be joining Andrew Buckman and the wider Publisher Collective team to drive the business forward with our publishing, platform and buying partners. So great to be back into a full time role in such an interesting and progressive company but at the same time a big thank you to all my clients whilst in the world of 'fractional' work - great experience which has helped broaden my knowledge across all areas of the publisher, adtech and buyer ecosystem. And for all those who are still looking for roles in what is still a very tough job market believe me, I feel your pain it has been truly awful at times. Bill. Congratulations. A well-deserved appointment. What a fabulous note too for those looking for work. I really feel for the young at the start of their careers. Covid brought forward by a decade the inevitability of mass home working way beyond flexible working. That wipes out work experience and even worse a great proportion of graduate training schemes. Abchurch used to employ 4 -7 graduates per year on an 18 month programme and many in the past have gone on to senior positions across the financial markets and elsewhere. Microsoft slept through Apple's advance on the young so now there's a whole Mac-obsessed generation out there that has no clue about Office 365, Outlook (upon which for three decades we have run an entire business based on its full capabilities) and the real Excel etc. And no, the two don't convert easily so as an employer you get to pay for Office installation and maintenance subs on home PCs on top of Office 365 subscriptions. AI subscribed-for is already covering the work of two Account Executives @ £20 per month and with no attitude! It would be good to meet up and chew the cud.
