PM Electronic Warfare & Cyber (PM EW&C) took part in the recent two-week Bronco Blitz exercise leading up to a future Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center unit rotation. Soldiers, including electromagnetic spectrum (EMS) managers and EW specialists, engaged with the Spectrum Situational Awareness System (S2AS) to gain a better understanding of their EMS signature. “This event enables us to get our system into the hands of Soldiers to learn about different concepts of employing the system, which will help how we iterate,” said MAJ Megan Bridges. “Soldier feedback is essential to delivering what is needed in the field – and doing so at speed.” Among the system’s capabilities, the S2AS can sense, detect, and report in near real time a command post’s EMS signature, and sources of electromagnetic interference (EMI) from coalition, partner, and enemy spectrum use.
