Levels are vertical datum elements that establish the important vertical locations within your project design. You can establish levels for important locations like first floor, second floor, top of steel, bottom of foundation, and there are several other examples that you could use as well. You can't manipulate levels from a floor plan view. So if you want to see or work on your levels, you must open a different view. Now, it's possible to see them in 3D. So I'm going to start here in the default 3D view from the Quick Access Toolbar. And these dashed V-shaped elements that you see on my screen here and here, those are the existing levels in this project. If I click to select one of those, you can see that it's a plane. So think of a level as a plane cutting through your building model at a particular height. And even though this plane has a fixed width and a fixed depth, it's infinite. So even if you didn't set the size of the level big enough, you can still draw geometry outside…
