Generative upscale in Photoshop

Photoshop now includes the ability to upscale lower-resolution images using generative AI models specifically created for this task. So here is an old photograph that I took in the late 1990s, and it's a digital version of that, that was from a website at that time, so you can imagine it's very low resolution. We can see down below here that we're at 100% right now, and if we look in our properties, it's 6 by 4 inches, 72 pixels per inch. And if I switch to pixels, we can see that it's 450 by 313 pixels. So again, very low resolution. To use Generative Upscale, we go up to our Image menu in Photoshop. And we can find it in this section right here, right between Image Size and Canvas Size. We have Generative Upscale. Now we have a few different choices here for models. There is the commercially safe Firefly Upscaler. But then there's also partner models. So we have Topaz Gigapixel, good for preserving detail, and Topaz Bloom, which can be a little more creative. Let's have a look at…
