Vice President of Software Engineering

VP Engineering, Trading (Frontend/UI)

This role is Building the Future of a top cryptocurrency exchange. As a member of this team, you’ll join them on their mission to accelerate the global adoption of crypto, so that everyone can achieve financial freedom and inclusion.

We are seeking a VP, Engineering, to lead the engineering organization responsible for the professional crypto trading platform experience. This leader will drive the architecture, development, and scale of high-performance trading interfaces while partnering closely with backend teams delivering market data, trading APIs, and order management systems.

The Opportunity

● Own the technical strategy and execution for the trading platform UI and user experience.

● Lead multiple engineering teams building real-time trading interfaces including charts, order books, trade feeds, and order management workflows.

● Deliver low-latency, high-performance trading experiences capable of handling real-time market data streams.

● Partner with backend engineering teams responsible for market data infrastructure, trading APIs, and order management systems.

● Scale and mentor engineering leaders and high-performing frontend teams.

● Establish best practices for frontend architecture, performance optimization, and platform reliability.

● Drive development of scalable UI platforms, component libraries, and design systems.

● Champion adoption of AI-assisted engineering tools to improve development velocity and code quality.

Skills You Should HODL

● 13+ years of software engineering experience, with deep frontend expertise.

● Proven leadership of engineering organizations, including managing managers.

● Strong experience with React, TypeScript, and modern frontend architectures.

● Experience building real-time applications using streaming market data and WebSockets.

● Solid understanding of backend systems, APIs, and distributed service architectures.

● Deep familiarity with professional trading interfaces (order books, charts, trading workflows).

● Experience in crypto, fintech, or electronic trading platforms strongly preferred.

● Familiarity with AI-powered engineering tools that improve developer productivity.

Nice to haves

● Direct experience with crypto market infrastructure

● Familiarity with exchange market structure and advanced order types

● Experience scaling trading platforms across geographies or regulatory environments
