UX Design Engineer
Location: Remote - USA
Salary: $165k–$200k + equity
We’re working with a high-growth, well-funded AI company building a category-defining platform at the intersection of AI, LLMs, and developer tooling.
This is a unique opportunity for someone who sits between engineering and design, a UX-focused engineer who cares deeply about product experience and wants to own how a highly technical platform feels to use.
The Role
This isn’t traditional product design, and it’s not pure frontend engineering either. It’s a hybrid role focused on refining and elevating the end-to-end user experience of a complex, technical product.
You’ll work closely with senior engineers who build core features, your job is to make those features intuitive, seamless, and genuinely enjoyable to use.
What You’ll Be Doing
Analyse real user behaviour (session replays, feedback) to identify friction points
Rapidly prototype and iterate on UX flows (Figma or directly in code)
Implement polished UI improvements, interactions, and transitions
Partner with engineering to refine complex workflows into clean, usable experiences
Build reusable patterns and contribute to design systems
Run lightweight usability testing to validate improvements
What They’re Looking For
Engineering background (frontend or similar) with strong UX instincts
Experience working on complex B2B, developer, or data-heavy products
Proven track record of improving product usability and experience
Comfortable prototyping in Figma and/or code
Strong attention to detail across edge cases, states, and interactions
Passion for craft - someone who cares about the difference between “working” and “delightful”
