System Administrator

Akkodis is hiring for a System Admin to support our client in the technology sector!

Location: Santa Clara, CA (Hybrid 3-4 days onsite)

Employment type: Contract (potential for conversion to FTE)

Pay: $43.50-60/hr (W2)

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the stability, security, and efficiency of our client's IT infrastructure, while supporting business operations and technical initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain servers, network devices, storage systems, and virtualization platforms.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot operating systems, software applications, and hardware components.
• Implement and maintain security measures to protect data and systems from cyber threats.
• Monitor system performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime.
• Plan and execute system upgrades, migrations, and patch management with minimal disruption.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing technical guidance for projects and initiatives.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, procedures, and policies.
• Provide technical support to end-users, resolving issues efficiently to ensure productivity.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to system emergencies as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related experience.
• Proven experience as a System Administrator or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
• Experience with system hardware and remote management tools (IPMI, iLO, iDRAC, etc.).
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Azure Administrator, VMware Certified Professional) are a plus
