The Editorial Assistant is a core executional role on goop’s editorial team, responsible for building, publishing, and maintaining content with precision and consistency. Sitting at the intersection of editorial, commerce, and product, this role ensures that every story is not only well-told but structurally sound, discoverable, and optimized for performance. The editorial team drives goop’s voice, audience growth, and contextual commerce strategy, and this role is essential to translating that vision into a seamless on-site experience.

About The Role
The Editorial Assistant is a core executional role on goop’s editorial team, responsible for building, publishing, and maintaining content with precision and consistency. Sitting at the intersection of editorial, commerce, and product, this role ensures that every story is not only well-told but structurally sound, discoverable, and optimized for performance. The editorial team drives goop’s voice, audience growth, and contextual commerce strategy, and this role is essential to translating that vision into a seamless on-site experience.
Responsibilities Include
- Build, format, and publish editorial content in WordPress, ensuring alignment with goop’s visual, editorial, and commerce standards.
- Execute QA across stories, including links, product modules, images, SEO fields, and affiliate integrations.
- Support and help evolve editorial workflows, including the integration of AI tools for content management, tagging, and operational efficiency.
- Maintain backend content systems (templates, taxonomies, tagging) to improve discoverability, consistency, and scalability.
- Partner with editorial, commerce, and product teams to optimize content for engagement, search, and conversion.
- Demonstrated interest in digital media, publishing, or content—through internships, campus publications, personal projects, or relevant work experience.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with excellent grammar and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with WordPress or similar CMS platforms, or a clear ability to learn quickly.
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Interest in SEO, analytics, and how content performs, with a willingness to engage with data.
- Curiosity about emerging tools, including AI, and how they can improve editorial workflows.
- Genuine enthusiasm for goop’s core verticals: beauty, wellness, fashion, food, and lifestyle.
- Compensation: $18.47 an hour. This temporary Assistant role will be full-time (40 hours/week) and run from June 1st – July 28th, 2026.
