Senior Mechanical Engineer

Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer – Pressure Vessels & FEA

Location: Remote / Flexible (U.S. / Canada)

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with hands-on experience in pressure vessel design, FEA, and mechanical hardware development. You will work on cutting-edge energy technology projects that involve high-pressure, high-reliability systems. Responsibilities:

• Design and analyze pressure-containing equipment, including vessels, heat exchangers, expansion joints, and piping systems.
• Perform finite element analysis (FEA) to validate designs under normal, upset, and extreme conditions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards (ASME Section VIII, B31.1/B31.3, EJMA, PED, or equivalent).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, materials, and quality to ensure designs are feasible and manufacturable.
• Create detailed 3D models and technical drawings using SolidWorks, Creo, NX, or Inventor.
• Support prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical assemblies.
• Prepare technical documentation and reports for internal review and regulatory purposes.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (P.Eng. or PE preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in mechanical design, FEA, and pressure vessel/hardware development.
• Hands-on experience with ANSYS or equivalent FEA software.
• Strong knowledge of ASME pressure vessel and piping codes.
• Experience in high-pressure or harsh environment systems.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines.

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with energy, nuclear, or marine systems.
• Experience with thermal analysis, CFD, or shock/load analysis.
• Familiarity with concurrent engineering, DFMEA, and design-for-manufacturing principles.
