Title: Senior Electrical Engineer (Engineer III)
Location: San Francisco, CA (94124)
Direct Hire/Permanent Role: Salary $128K–$168K + bonus + full benefits
Overview:
A leading employee-owned electrical contractor is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support complex commercial, industrial, and mission-critical projects. This role involves technical leadership, design oversight, and coordination with internal teams, clients, and contractors to ensure projects meet all codes, standards, and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor engineers and designers on project execution
Oversee preparation of electrical designs, including power, lighting, and auxiliary systems
Oversee development of power system single-line diagrams, including feeders, overcurrent protection sizing, and equipment layouts
Review submittals, drawings, and specifications for compliance
Perform or supervise system studies (short circuit, coordination, arc flash)
Coordinate across disciplines including MEP, architecture, and construction teams
Support value engineering, budgeting, and project scheduling
Interface with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders
Conduct site visits, field surveys, and assist with commissioning
Help resolve design conflicts, technical issues, and installation challenges
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
5+ years of electrical engineering experience
Professional Engineer (PE) license required
Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering principles including power distribution, lighting, grounding, energy efficiency, value engineering, and applicable codes and standards
Experience with design and analysis software such as Autodesk and Microsoft Office
Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects
