This role serves as a strategic category expert responsible for transforming data, shopper insights, and market trends into actionable growth strategies for key retail partners. You will act as a trusted advisor to both internal sales teams and external retail stakeholders, helping shape assortment, pricing, and merchandising decisions that drive category expansion and profitability. Working in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment, you will leverage syndicated data and advanced analytics to uncover opportunities and influence joint business planning. This position requires strong commercial acumen, deep category expertise, and the ability to translate complex insights into clear recommendations. You will play a critical role in strengthening retailer relationships and improving overall shopper experience across multiple channels.

Accountabilities

  • Act as the category expert for assigned retail partners, providing strategic leadership and actionable insights to drive category growth
  • Analyze syndicated, shopper, and consumer data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks
  • Generate regular and ad hoc reporting to support business decisions and uncover growth opportunities
  • Influence joint business planning, line reviews, assortment strategy, and shelf/space optimization decisions
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, insights, and planning teams to ensure alignment on category strategies and execution
  • Develop and deliver compelling presentations to retail buyers and senior stakeholders to support strategic initiatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in category management, shopper insights, or related roles within consumer goods
  • Strong expertise with syndicated data tools such as Nielsen, IRI, Numerator, or similar platforms
  • Proven experience presenting insights and recommendations to retail buyers and senior decision-makers
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize multiple data sources into clear business recommendations
  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
  • Strong relationship-building skills across internal teams and external retail partners
