JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Account Manager drives business growth by developing and managing strategic commercial partnerships to promote and sell Exacto’s diverse portfolio of crop protection and crop health formulations. This role is responsible for ensuring exceptional service across all customer accounts while working closely with the Chief Commercial Officer to align with company objectives. The Senior Account Manager plays a key role in expanding sales, enhancing customer support, and strengthening field engagement, while continuously advancing their own professional growth and industry expertise.


ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Responsible for creating accurate forecasting and achieving targets of annualized budget growth.
  • Manages multiple accounts and actively cultivates those with large growth potential.
  • Provides multiple accounts with sales services at the retail and manager levels with a value and solutions-based approach.
  • Understands their assigned market segments and the major players within it.
  • Develop relationships within the customer organizations to understand opportunities. 
  • Acts as the liaison for coordinating projects and activities between sales department and support groups such as RDI, Operations, Customer Service, and Marketing.
  • Works with customer focus teams to deliver customer solutions, education, research, and training at the distributor, dealer, and end-user levels. 
  • Travels as needed to visit with customers, vendors, and prospective customers and vendors. 
  • Attend industry meetings, shows, and training classes related to potential opportunities to enhance knowledge and network of new industries and market prospects. 
  • Maintains an understanding of the weeds, diseases, insects, and environmental challenges that limit performance but can create opportunities for products. 
  • Demonstrate weekly proficiency in reporting tools required to communicate customer strategy and outcomes. Tools include CRM.   


OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of agriculture industry and a strong understanding of the complex business environments and technical demands of specialty chemical and biological sales.
  • Extensive experience in growing sales in a changing agricultural market.
  • Proactive self-starter with high capacity for learning quickly.
  • Efficient in self-managing deadlines, prioritizing assignments, and delivering outputs with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills including effectively presenting to customers.
  • Able to quickly build trusting relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently within a goal-driven strategic team.
  • Interpersonal relationship building and active listening.
  • Proven ability in prospecting and qualifying leads.
  • Creative with a vision to think outside the box. 
  • Deadline-oriented, works well under pressure. 
  • Ability to travel ~60% on average to support customers and prospects and maintain industry awareness.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience growing sales in agricultural markets.
  • Agriculture crop protection and / or crop health branded and/or private label experience at the manufacturer and distribution-retail level.
  • Experience leading customer relationship management with ag retailers / distributors; major active ingredients suppliers and turf/ornamental industry experience is a plus.
  • Relevant experience in sales, business development & other corporate development functions.
