Sales Development Representative (Outbound / SMB FinTech)

Industry: FinTech / Financial Services / SaaS

Location: New York City (5 days onsite, relocation supported)

Compensation: Up to $240K OTE (50/50 split) + strong upside


The Opportunity

This is not a typical SDR role.


You’ll be joining a high-growth fintech startup that has cracked a unique distribution model into one of the most underpenetrated markets in the US, owner-led SMBs across traditional industries.


The business is scaling aggressively, adding ~$2M in new revenue monthly, and has built a differentiated go-to-market motion through strategic partnerships with national trade organisations. This gives you access to warm credibility in a market most fintechs have failed to penetrate.


Now, they’re building a high-performance outbound engine to take that growth to the next level.

If you’re looking for a structured, inbound-heavy SDR role, this isn’t it.


If you want to outwork, outlearn, and out-earn your peers, this is exactly that environment.


What You’ll Do

  • Own high-volume outbound prospecting into SMB owners (primary persona)
  • Run a multi-channel outreach motion across calls, email, LinkedIn, and creative follow-ups
  • Use power dialling tools to generate consistent pipeline at scale
  • Book qualified demos for Account Executives across two core product lines
  • Own follow-up end-to-end until meetings are secured
  • Get creative with outreach, including personalised messaging, gifting, and non-traditional approaches
  • Represent the business at industry events and conferences (typically 1 per month)
  • Continuously refine messaging based on real market feedback


You’ll Succeed Here If You Have

  • Proven experience in outbound sales (SDR/BDR or similar)
  • A true hunter mentality, you’re comfortable making high volumes of calls and handling rejection
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to think on your feet and handle non-scripted objections
  • High levels of ambition and internal drive
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
  • Ideally, exposure to SMB sales or fintech (not essential, but a plus)

  • You rely on inbound leads or structured sequences to hit quota
  • You’re looking for a low-pressure or highly balanced environment
  • You struggle with rejection or high-volume outreach
  • You need heavy structure, scripts, or hand-holding
  • You’re not motivated by performance-driven compensation
