The Safety Coordinator supports the development, implementation, and enforcement of workplace safety programs to ensure a safe, compliant, and productive environment for all employees. This role works closely with the HSE Manager and staff to identify hazards, reduce risks, and promote a strong safety culture.
Education, Experience & Certifications
High school diploma or GED required, associate or bachelor’s degree in safety, Environmental Health, or related field preferred.
Experience in safety coordination, OSHA compliance, or related field (industry-specific experience preferred).
Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices.
Strong communication, observation, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to train others and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Assist with creating, updating, and enforcing safety policies, procedures, and programs.
Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and jobsite walk-throughs to identify potential hazards.
Coordinate and track employee safety training, certifications, and compliance requirements.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain OSHA logs, safety documentation, and required regulatory records.
Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and new-hire orientations.
Support incident trend analysis and work with leadership to improve safety performance.
Ensure proper use of PPE and verify that equipment and tools meet safety standards.
Assist in emergency response planning, drills, and communication.
Serve as a resource for employees and supervisors regarding safety practices and regulatory compliance.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, or climb for extended periods during inspections.
Ability to lift up to 25–50 lbs., depending on jobsite needs.
Comfortable working indoors, outdoors, and in varying environmental conditions.
