API Tester - Hybrid - Ashburn, VA

About the role:

To compile, research, analyze and document data, requirements, workflow/ processes, functionality and or controls for respective ISD group. To develop and evaluate information, and prepare recommendations based on analysis for use in decision making. Applies extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and relates fields. Work on the most complex, high impact projects. Serve as technical specialist or advisor to the respective group.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assist Quality Assurance Analyst to certify system testing complete & ready for production - Considerable latitude

* Create and edit test cases in accordance with system requirements - Complex/Difficult

* Create, modify and/or locate the data and conditions needed to execute test cases - Complex/Difficult

* Identify areas for improved testing processes - Considerable latitude

* Modify, coordinate and schedule input to maintain the test environments - Basic/Routine

* Report testing activity including time spent, testing time lost and discrepancies found

* Serve as test lead on projects - Moderate scope

* Ensure clear, concise and effective communication of material - Assist in leading

* Full life-cycle project management

- Establish and lead project teams

- Develop project plan/scope/schedule/cost/communications

- Procure and/or manage resources/timelines/deadlines/quality

- Risk, Issue and Change management

- Ensure successful project implementation

- Scope of responsibility - Considerable scope

* Serve as subject matter expert regarding business functions, systems, policies and/or procedures.

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience

* Ability to work independently and in a team environment

* Experience in testing complex systems including various platforms

* Advanced knowledge of development or operations framework methodologies, including Information Technology

Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), etc

* Advanced organizational, planning and time management skills

* Advanced research, analytical, and problem solving skills

* Advanced skill maintaining accuracy with attention to detail and meeting deadlines

* Effective skill presenting findings, conclusions, alternatives and information clearly and concisely

* Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation:

$50-$55/hr on W2

This is the targeted compensation range for this role. Please note that this range is provided as a guideline and the final offer will be based on several factors, including but not limited to, skillset and competencies, level of experience, education, certifications, and location.
