William Duff Architects (WDA) is seeking a Project Manager / Project Architect with strong technical and project leadership experience to join our Hospitality Studio. This role will support a growing portfolio of elevated Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) projects in the Pacific Northwest, with opportunities to help shape the expansion of a long-term client partnership.

About the Role
This position will play a key role in supporting a major multi-year hospitality/QSR client program. The successful candidate will help lead projects through documentation, coordination, and construction while working closely with studio leadership and consultants.
The role is remote-friendly outside of the San Francisco Bay Area / nationally, with occasional travel for site visits and project meetings (typically once per month or less).
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership
Lead and support the delivery of hospitality and QSR projects from design development through construction administration
Coordinate closely with project leadership, consultants, and internal team members
Maintain alignment with project goals, schedule, and budget
Technical Production
Produce and manage well-coordinated, accurate construction documentation
Develop architectural details and technical solutions that maintain design intent while ensuring constructability
Conduct code analysis, building systems coordination, and product research
Client & Consultant Coordination
Participate in project meetings with internal teams, consultants, and clients
Communicate project decisions clearly and maintain organized documentation
Help manage permitting processes and agency approvals
Construction Administration
Support construction with RFIs, submittals, field reports, and site coordination
Conduct site visits and assist with field problem solving as needed
Ensure design intent is maintained through the construction process
Team Collaboration
Contribute to WDA’s collaborative studio culture
Provide mentorship and support to junior team members when appropriate
Participate in design discussions and internal reviews
Qualifications
7–15+ years of professional architectural experience
Experience delivering commercial food and beverage projects
Strong knowledge of construction documentation and detailing
Experience working through permitting and construction administration
Ability to manage multiple tasks and communicate effectively with distributed teams
Strong organizational and project coordination skills
Client-focused mindset and excellent communication abilities
Revit proficiency required
Experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite
Familiarity with building codes and permitting processes
LEED or other sustainability credentials are a plus
