Commonwealth LNG is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Contracts professional to lead and drive the successful execution of major contracts for a multi‑billion‑dollar LNG development project. This role requires deep expertise in contract formation, contract administration, and the negotiation of complex terms and conditions within the energy sector, particularly large‑scale EPC, supply, and service agreements.
The Contracts Manager will play a critical role in achieving project objectives by independently managing assigned contracts across their full lifecycle, from negotiation through execution, change management, and close‑out. This role requires strong commercial judgment, a proactive approach to risk identification and mitigation, and the ability to clearly communicate contractual positions, risks, and recommendations to internal stakeholders and external counterparties.
The successful candidate will work closely with project management, engineering, procurement, construction, legal, and finance teams to ensure contractual alignment with project objectives, while maintaining compliance with company policies and industry best practices.
Core Role & Expectations:
Independently develop Requests for Proposal (RFPs), bid packages, and commercial documentation for assigned scopes of work.
Lead and support contract negotiations by preparing and reviewing redlines, issue lists, and commercial risk assessments; negotiate commercial terms within assigned authority and escalate key issues appropriately
Independently manage assigned contracts from award through execution, ensuring compliance with contractual, commercial, and pricing obligations
Prepare decision support packages (DSP) and commercial summaries to support major contract award approvals
Draft, review, and manage contracts and contract amendments with minimal supervision
Proactively identify issues, unclear direction, or gaps in information and determine next steps independently
Adapt quickly to changing priorities, shifting scopes, and evolving project needs in a dynamic environment
Translate strategic objectives into executable contracting actions without step‑by‑step direction.
Collaborate closely with Legal, Finance, Engineering, and Project Management teams to support effective and timely contract execution
Communicate clearly and professionally with internal stakeholders and external counterparties
Maintain accurate, complete, and well‑organized contract records and documentation
Support contract‑related reporting and provide timely status updates as required
Demonstrate a hands‑on, proactive, “go‑get‑it” mindset with strong ownership of assigned work
Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
May be required to work non-traditional hours as needed, and travel domestically and internationally to participate in key meetings and manage stakeholder relationships.

Preferred (Not Required) Skills & Experience
Experience with administration of EPC prime contracts.
Experience working in an Owner oversight role interfacing with EPC contractors during project execution.
Experience with tagged equipment purchase agreements and related commercial and contractual terms

Education, Certificates, and Licenses:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or a related field
Experience:
10+ years of experience in Contracts required
LNG experience preferred, but not required
Contracting experience in Louisiana preferred, but not required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Extensive experience in contract management for large‑scale energy infrastructure projects, including oil and gas, LNG, or other complex capital projects.
Demonstrated experience preparing, negotiating, and administering a wide range of complex contracts, including major construction, EPC, supply, and service agreements.
Strong familiarity with EPC and major equipment manufacturer PO terms, risk allocation, and commercial intent.
In‑depth knowledge of contract law, industry regulations, and contract management best practices applicable to large capital projects.
Proven ability to analyze contractual and commercial issues at the transaction level and apply sound, consistent, and practical resolutions.
Demonstrated commercial judgment and problem‑solving capability in ambiguous, high‑value, and time‑sensitive situations.
Ability to manage complex and highly confidential matters in a mature, professional, and discreet manner.
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and engage confidently with internal stakeholders and external counterparties.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate contractual positions, risks, and recommendations to audiences ranging from field teams to executive leadership.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, managing multiple priorities and deliverables in a fast‑paced, demanding project environment.
Strategic and analytical mindset with a focus on planning, continuous improvement, and proactive risk identification.
Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, evolving scopes, and project needs while maintaining accountability for outcomes.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, for commercial analysis, documentation, and reporting.
