Summary
Responsible for performing a full range of library work, including planning and implementing library services and programs, interpreting and enforcing library policies, analyzing the public’s library needs, selecting library material, advising the public in their use of library materials and resources.
Pay Range: $51,563.20 - $65,665.60 (Depending on qualifications and experience)
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Work is performed in a typical library environment. Must be able to stand, walk, push/pull loaded book carts, lift to 30 pounds, and reach materials on shelving at various heights using proper equipment. Occasional travel between library and city facilities may be required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct age-appropriate programs and activities for diverse populations.
- Provide reference assistance, readers’ advisory services, and technology instruction to patrons.
- Assist in assessing community needs and developing library services and programs.
- Instruct patrons in the use of the library’s catalog, databases, and classification systems.
- Resolve patron issues and enforce library policies.
- Maintain data, conduct surveys, and compile reports on library activities.
- Supervise library operations in the absence of a Senior Librarian or Manager.
- Promote library materials through displays, social media, and community outreach.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Master's Degree in Library Science (MLS) from an ALA-accredited institution or within 6 months of earning an MLS degree.
- Up to 1 year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential job functions.
- Valid Class C Texas Driver’s License.
