Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer / Network Architect to support mission-critical operations within a secure government environment. This role is responsible for the design, implementation, security, and sustainment of complex enterprise IT network architectures.
The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, leadership experience, and a strong background supporting large-scale government programs.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop detailed network architectures for data center environments in compliance with government standards
Create and maintain network diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation
Lead installation, configuration, and optimization of routers, switches, firewalls, and network systems
Implement and manage network security solutions, including firewalls and intrusion detection systems
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability
Conduct capacity planning and design scalable network solutions
Support configuration management, system upgrades, and issue resolution
Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to support security accreditation and authorization processes
Validate hardware against approved product lists and assist with Bill of Materials (BOM) development
Provide technical leadership and oversee multiple projects from design through implementation
Support transition efforts between facilities while maintaining operational continuity
Required Qualifications
Active TS/SCI clearance
Minimum 10 years of experience administering and engineering multi-vendor networks (e.g., Cisco, Juniper)
At least 7 years of experience in a Network Architect or Network Lead role on projects of similar size and scope
Minimum 5 years of experience supporting government programs
Experience designing networks with high availability and load balancing
Demonstrated experience in network planning, design, implementation, and troubleshooting
Active Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Juniper Networks Certified Professional (JNCIP) certification
IAT or IAM Level II (or higher) certification (e.g., Security+)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to collaborate across technical teams and stakeholders
Education:
Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or a related field; OR
Bachelor's degree in a related field with additional relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Nutanix and network virtualization technologies
Familiarity with AWS GovCloud, cloud networking, and PostgreSQL databases
Experience with network analysis tools such as Wireshark, Sniffer, or Microsoft Network Monitor
