HATCH Architecture is a small Los Angeles design studio seeking a reliable, highly organized Job Captain / Project Coordinator to work directly with the principal architect on custom residential projects.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can help carry projects from early studies through permitting and documentation with strong follow-through, clear communication, and solid technical judgment. The principal remains design lead and final reviewer; this role is the day-to-day production and coordination backbone of the office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design studies, plans, elevations, and presentation-ready drawing packages
• Develop permit sets and construction document packages under principal direction
• Coordinate consultants and incorporate consultant information into drawing sets
• Support zoning/code research and agency responses
• Manage day-to-day project correspondence with clients, consultants, vendors, and city staff
• Track redlines, revisions, submissions, and project deadlines
• Assist with construction administration, site visits, and field follow-up as needed
  
  

Requirements

• 5–8 years of professional experience in architecture
• Strong residential experience, preferably custom single-family work
• Strong Revit proficiency
• Experience producing permit and construction drawing sets
• Experience coordinating consultants and handling project correspondence
• Strong design judgment and clean graphic presentation skills
• Clear written and verbal communication
• Highly organized, dependable, and able to manage deadlines without constant supervision
• Working knowledge of California codes, zoning, and permitting processes
• Must be qualified to work in the United States

• Los Angeles jurisdiction/permitting experience
• Construction administration experience
• Licensure in progress
• Strong rendering abilities (V-Ray for 3ds Max, Rhino, Twinmotion, Etc.)
