This position serves as a manager, including planning, directing subordinates, and interpreting policy. The role manages Systems and Support functions within Information Technology and is responsible for maintaining the overall health and reliability of the agency network, computer systems, and applications.

Responsibilities include supporting PCs and providing assistance to agency personnel and external customers with issues related to computers, printers, scanners, and office productivity software.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage the network systems and support desk teams.
  2. Participate in IT Management team strategic planning and overall division success.
  3. Coordinate projects with the IT PMO manager across systems and technical initiatives.
  4. Serve as a subject matter expert in network design and security.
  5. Manage cloud and network systems, including design and security.
KnowledgeCore Expertise
  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (Azure) and cost management best practices.
General Knowledge
  • Database platforms and AI workloads
  • Complex TCP/IP network configurations
  • Virtualized hardware for enterprise networks
  • Enterprise storage systems
  • VLAN and Layer 3 switching
  • Multi-tier security architectures
  • IT governance frameworks (ITIL, CoBIT, MOF)
  • Enterprise data center management (on-premise and cloud)
Working Knowledge
  • Windows 11 imaging and troubleshooting
  • Microsoft Exchange, Hyper-V, SharePoint, SQL Server
  • Active Directory and Cisco switching
  • Security best practices

A deep understanding of leadership and management principles, along with a clear vision for the business function, is essential.

  • Communicate with network experts and vendors
  • Implement and troubleshoot web, cloud, and server-based applications
  • Design and maintain computing networks with change control best practices
  • Procure servers, PCs, and related hardware
  • Resolve network outages and cross-functional issues
