Functional Tester

Job Description

• 5–8+ years of experience conducting functional, system, integration, and regression testing.
• Strong understanding of testing methodologies, SDLC, and STLC.
• Ability to validate end-to-end business workflows and functional requirements.
• Experience analyzing functional specs, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Ability to map requirements to test coverage and identify missing requirements.
• Strong execution skills for: Smoke testing, Functional testing, Regression testing , UAT support, Negative testing, Exploratory testing
• Proficient in identifying, documenting, and tracking defects with clear reproduction steps.
• Hands-on experience with defect tracking tools: JIRA, Azure DevOps, HP ALM, qTest, or equivalent.
• Ability to understand business requirements, BRDs, FSDs, and user stories.
• Work closely with Business Analysts, Product Owners, and Developers to clarify requirements.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with SQL for backend data validation.
• Knowledge of API testing using Postman or similar tools (basic validation).
• Familiarity with automation tools (Selenium, QTP/UFT) – even basic exposure.
• Experience with finance, insurance, banking, healthcare, or e-commerce domains.
• Understanding of CI/CD workflows.
• Experience supporting UAT with business stakeholders.
