Senior Finance Data Analyst (Zuora / Renewal Forecasting)

Contract: 3 Months (Extension Likely)

Location: Remote (U.S. – EST overlap preferred)

Overview

We’re supporting a high-impact initiative focused on automating and rebuilding a fragmented renewal forecasting process.

Today, this process is:

• Highly manual
• Built across multiple systems (Zuora, internal product data, and spreadsheets)
• Time-consuming and difficult to scale

This role is responsible for helping translate that process into a structured, reliable data model that Finance can trust.

This is not a reporting or dashboarding role.

You’ll be working at the intersection of billing systems, finance, and data modeling to solve a core revenue problem.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Partner with FP&A and business stakeholders to understand and break down a multi-step manual renewal forecasting process
• Analyze and document current-state workflows (including 10+ manual steps across multiple data sources)
• Translate business logic into structured data requirements, user stories, and data models
• Work with existing data resources to design and build a scalable renewal forecasting model
• Leverage data from Zuora, internal product systems, and other sources to create a unified view of active subscriptions
• Develop and support SQL-based transformations in Snowflake (dbt preferred)
• Identify gaps in current data, logic, and processes, and help define improved future-state workflows
• Create supporting artifacts such as:
• Process flows
• ERDs (Entity Relationship Diagrams)
• Data mappings and documentation
• Contribute to the foundation of a broader renewal analytics data mart and reporting ecosystem

What You Need

• Strong hands-on experience with Zuora (billing + subscriptions)Deep understanding of rate plans, amendments, renewals, and subscription lifecycle
• Experience working directly with Finance / FP&A teams on forecasting, revenue analytics, or similar initiatives
• Advanced SQL skills with experience building data transformations and models
• Experience working with Snowflake (dbt strongly preferred)
• Ability to take messy, manual processes and translate them into structured, scalable data solutions
• Experience working across multiple systems and reconciling data sources
• Strong business-facing skills:
• Requirements gathering
• Process mapping
• Translating business needs into technical solutions

Ideal Background

• Hybrid profile: Data Analyst / Analytics Engineer / Finance Systems Analyst
• Experience in subscription-based or SaaS environments
• Familiarity with subscription revenue concepts (ARR, renewals, churn, etc.)
• Experience building or supporting forecasting models used by Finance
• Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments with limited structure

What This Role Is Not

• Not a BI or dashboarding role
• Not a pure data engineering role disconnected from the business
• Not a fit for candidates without Zuora or subscription billing experience
