Overview
Smart Meetings is seeking a detail-oriented editor with a passion for storytelling across platforms. This fully remote role is ideal for an editorial professional who can ensure high-quality print and digital content while contributing to audience growth through multimedia and social-first content.
The ideal candidate is a strong editor and writer who is equally comfortable refining long-form articles, building industry relationships and capturing engaging content in real time.
Key Responsibilities
Editorial & Print:
· Proofread and edit print and digital articles for grammar, clarity, AP and house style and brand voice
· Work within InCopy during final edit stages
· Collaborate with writers and editors to refine drafts and strengthen content
· Write articles as needed, including short features, columns and news briefs
Content Development:
· Contribute story ideas and assist in editorial planning
· Build and maintain strong relationships with industry sources and grow beat contacts
· Collaborate with the sales team on custom content and integrated editorial opportunities
· Assist with special projects and custom content
Multimedia & Social Content:
· Capture content on-site at events and during travel, including photos, short-form video and behind-the-scenes moments
· Support development of social-first storytelling across platforms
· Contribute to multimedia content such as videos, live conversations and digital features
· Identify opportunities to extend editorial content across digital channels
Travel:
· Represent Smart Meetings on familiarization trips, site visits and industry events
· Capture editorial and social content while on assignment
Qualifications
· 2–5 years of editorial, content or media experience
· Strong editing and proofreading skills with knowledge of AP style
· Clear, engaging writing ability across formats
· Experience with or interest in multimedia storytelling and content creation
· Comfortable capturing photo and video content for digital and social platforms
· Highly organized with strong attention to detail
· Comfortable working remotely and collaborating across teams
