Built on a legacy of quality and innovation, we are seeking a Director of Engineering to join our team and support our continued growth.


This role, we are seeking a passionate execution-driven engineering leader to build, shape and lead a high-performance Product Engineering team, innovating with R&D and focused on next-generation mobile cooling products. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving product innovation from concept through commercialization while aligning engineering initiatives with business growth and ROI. This position is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who thrives in fast-moving product environments, enjoys leading teams and advancing technology, and wants to shape the future of mobile cooling.


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build, mentor, and scale a best-in-class Product Engineering team with high sense of urgency, for maximum output and insane innovation.
  • Foster & cultivate team mindset, investing in teamwork, building trust, promoting open communication, celebrating collaborative successes more than individual win.
  • Establish team member development & growth plans through positive leadership & training initiatives, that dual support the individual while supporting company initiatives.
  • Evolve team & technology as company evolves, reinvent when and where necessary.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Industrial Design, Product Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and Marketing to ensure successful product launches.
  • Drive the technical innovation and identify new product opportunities aligned with market demand and emerging technologies.
  • Establish best-in-class engineering processes, documentation standards, and project execution framework.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to optimize the design, development and production efficiency of New Products.
  • Lead the team with end-to-end product design & engineering from ideation and prototyping to testing, validation, and production launch.
  • Oversee all technical designs and engineering decisions on New Products as well as Productivity Value Engineering initiatives.
  • Monitor team’s performance, peer feedback, cross-functional collaboration to ensure best-in-class team operation and developmental growth.
  • Support the management of department budgets, New Product timelines, and department KPIs with strong ROI accountability.
  • Reviews and approves Engineering Design Requests and Changes.
  • Remains current on consumer product innovations throughout the industry and thrives leading new technologies within the company.
  • Oversee all engineering analysis performed by team, including prototyping to verify function, testing to verify performance
  • Collaborate with team members, have a meaningful project that allows you to have impact, career exploration and development, learn new skills, and get to know other interns.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

A suitable background would be a solid experience within the following qualifications and experiences:

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5–10 years’ experience in Product Engineering developing high-volume, low-cost, consumer products sold at mass market retailers.
  • Solid experience managing Engineers in the development of New Products.
  • Strategic thinker with strong leadership presence and decision-making ability.

  • Remarkable attention to detail; incredible ability to communicate; great personality.
  • Product design & manufacturing experience in injection mold, blow mold, rotational mold processes.
  • Ability to understand & effectively communicate in both English & Spanish.
