Role Overview

The Director, Learning Design will lead the expert design, enhancement, and development of RAIN Group’s learning products and experiences. This role is central to ensuring the quality, innovation, and impact of our learning solutions — blending instructional expertise, creativity, and collaboration across teams.


The Director will drive the creation of new learning products and updates to core intellectual property (IP), integrating emerging AI capabilities, and optimizing delivery through our learning management system (LMS). They will work in close partnership with the Sales, Product, Go-to-Market (GTM), Client, and Operations teams to design and deliver high-impact, scalable learning solutions for clients around the world.


This role ensures that custom-designed learning solutions for clients are not only innovative and effective but also feed into the ongoing evolution of RAIN Group’s core product suite.


Key Responsibilities


Learning Design and Development

  • Lead the design and continuous improvement of RAIN Group’s learning experiences across programs, formats, and platforms.
  • Integrate AI-driven tools and methods to enhance learner engagement, personalization, and assessment.
  • Oversee design quality, ensuring instructional soundness and consistency across all programs and modalities.
  • Develop frameworks and standards for scalable learning design and development.


Custom Instructional Design and Client Collaboration

  • Partner with Sales and Client Engagement teams to conceptualize and design custom learning curricula tailored to client needs.
  • Translate client objectives and RAIN’s core IP into bespoke learning journeys that combine existing assets with new development.
  • Create client-specific content and learning materials in collaboration with internal SMEs and Product teams.
  • Participate in key client conversations as a learning design expert, supporting solution design and proposal development.


Product Integration and Innovation

  • Work with Product and GTM teams to ensure client-customized solutions are leveraged for future core IP enhancements.
  • Identify opportunities to evolve RAIN’s product suite based on client feedback and design innovation.
  • Partner with Product teams to embed learning design best practices into product development processes.
  • Support the evolution of RAIN Group’s LMS as a strategic enabler of scalable, data-driven learning.


Cross-Functional Leadership and Collaboration

  • Collaborate across Sales, Product, GTM, Client Engagement, and Operations to ensure alignment and efficiency in solution delivery.
  • Champion the integration of learning design into product and client processes, ensuring quality and scalability.
  • Guide internal contributors (designers, content developers, facilitators) on learning design best practices.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree in Learning Design, Education, or related field preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience leading learning design, curriculum development, or instructional strategy in a professional services or corporate learning environment.
  • Expertise in instructional design methodologies, adult learning theory, and digital learning innovation.
  • Strong understanding of learning technology ecosystems (e.g., LMS, AI tools, content authoring, analytics).
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver both standardised and bespoke learning programs for clients.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills; ability to influence across product, sales, and client delivery teams.
  • Strong project management, creative problem-solving, and communication skills.
