As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will act as a critical bridge between security operations, identity governance, and infrastructure defense. This role is designed for a security professional who enjoys variety.
Responsibilities:
Lead cybersecurity monitoring, threat hunting, and incident response, analyzing SIEM alerts and network activity to detect and respond to advanced threats.
Own the end-to-end lifecycle (detection, containment, eradication, recovery), ensuring rapid mitigation of security incidents and minimizing business impact.
Perform security assessments and vulnerability management, while tuning and optimizing security tools (SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS) to improve detection accuracy and reduce false positives.
Strengthen enterprise security posture by implementing Zero Trust principles, including secure authentication, authorization, and continuous identity verification.
Architect identity security controls (SSO, MFA, RBAC, federation) to protect against account compromise, privilege escalation, and lateral movement.
Collaborate with cloud and infrastructure teams to implement cybersecurity controls across AWS, Azure, and GCP, securing hybrid and cloud-native environments.
Develop and maintain security automation solutions (Python, PowerShell, Terraform) to streamline incident response, access provisioning, and compliance processes.
Maintain clear security documentation, playbooks, and operational procedures, ensuring consistency and readiness across security operations.
Stay current with emerging cybersecurity trends and technologies.
Requirements:
Proven experience in Cybersecurity, with hands-on exposure to security engineering, security operations (SOC), or identity security across small, mid or enterprise-level environments.
Strong practical experience with security monitoring and detection tools (SIEM/EDR such as Splunk, Sentinel, CrowdStrike), along with incident response and threat analysis.
Solid understanding of core cybersecurity principles, including authentication, authorization, and secure access controls (SSO, MFA, RBAC), with working knowledge of identity protocols (SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect).
Experience supporting or implementing identity and access management (IAM) solutions, including federation, privileged access management, and access governance.
Proficiency in scripting or automation (Python, Bash, or PowerShell) to support security operations, analysis, or process improvement.
Working knowledge of directory services and hybrid identity environments, including Active Directory and Entra ID.
Experience or exposure to cloud and hybrid security environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including implementing or supporting security controls.
Relevant cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GIAC) are preferred; IAM or cloud security certifications are a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
