Business Analyst

Title: Business Analyst (Intermediate)

Location: Tallahassee, FL

Type: Contract (Onsite with some remote flexibility)

Pay: $38/hr - $40/hr

Summary:

The Business Analyst serves as a key liaison between business units and IT, supporting the intake, analysis, and documentation of technology initiatives throughout the demand lifecycle. This role focuses on translating business needs into actionable requirements, facilitating stakeholder collaboration, and contributing to governance processes from ideation through project approval. The analyst will evaluate feasibility, assess business value, and help prioritize initiatives aligned with organizational strategy.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience
• At least 3 years of experience in business process analysis and requirements documentation
• Experience facilitating sessions with executives and subject matter experts
• Proficiency with process mapping and modeling tools such as Visio
• Experience with ServiceNow or similar demand/portfolio management tools
• Strong experience using Microsoft 365 tools including SharePoint and Teams; Power BI exposure preferred
• Experience creating business cases including ROI, TCO, and cost-benefit analysis
• Understanding of how business requirements translate into technical solutions
• Relevant certifications such as CSM, CSO, CBAP, PMI-PBA, PMI-ACP, PMP, or ITIL are a plus

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate intake of business ideas and convert them into structured, documented demands
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define business needs, objectives, scope, risks, and constraints
• Categorize and prioritize demands based on urgency, complexity, business impact, and strategic alignment
• Analyze demand trends and assess feasibility against technical capabilities and constraints
• Conduct stakeholder meetings and maintain strong cross-functional relationships
• Document business processes, system interactions, and dependencies using process modeling tools
• Complete and maintain demand records ensuring accuracy of key fields and documentation
• Translate business strategy into detailed requirements for applications and infrastructure
• Develop business cases including cost-benefit analysis, ROI, and risk summaries
• Prepare executive-ready materials summarizing value, risks, and feasibility
• Identify process improvement opportunities and design future-state workflows
• Support cybersecurity risk assessments when required
• Track demand-related tasks to ensure visibility, accountability, and timely execution
• Stay current on emerging technologies and recommend solutions to improve business performance
