Associate Art Director

Overview:

Veronica Beard is seeking an Associate Art Director, Digital Creative with a strong focus on on-figure e-commerce photography. This role reports directly to the Design Director, Brand Creative and is responsible for executing all on-figure e-commerce imagery. The ideal candidate has a sharp eye for styling, composition, and retouching, and is highly skilled in managing the end-to-end photography process—from pre-production through final selects.

Responsibilities:

• Own the execution of all on-figure e-commerce photography, ensuring imagery is elevated, consistent, and aligned with seasonal direction
• Art direct on-set for e-commerce shoots, guiding styling, posing, and composition to achieve a polished, on-brand result
• Lead image selects and provide detailed retouching notes, maintaining a high standard of quality and consistency across all assets
• Oversee and manage the in-house retoucher, giving clear direction, feedback, and approvals throughout the post-production process
• Partner with styling and production teams during pre-production to align on casting, shot lists, and overall shoot direction
• Ensure all imagery meets the needs of the digital team, balancing creative integrity with business and merchandising priorities
• Manage post-production workflows and timelines, ensuring assets are delivered accurately and on schedule
• Maintain and evolve e-commerce photography standards, continuously refining lighting, composition, and on-figure presentation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including e-commerce, merchandising, and marketing to ensure seamless execution and delivery
• Support seasonal campaign shoots as needed, assisting with pre-production and on-set execution
• Ownership of photo shoots for our wholesale selling platform, JOOR, including overseeing pre-production, providing creative direction during the shoot, and ensuring assets meet brand guidelines and the needs of the wholesale team.

Requirements:

• 5-7 years of design and art direction experience in a related field (fashion / luxury a plus)
• Experience art directing e-commerce photography and managing retouching workflows
• Eye for design, clean + sophisticated aesthetic, and strong interest in fashion
• Strong voice, highly motivated, self-managed, and able to think independently
• Innovative thinker always seeking to grow and push brand direction forward
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Capture One, and XD)
• Well-rounded creative portfolio with design, branding, and art direction projects
• Previous experience at luxury lifestyle, fashion or creative agency is preferred
• Responds positively to feedback and adapts quickly to change
• Takes initiative and understands no task is too small
• Excellent interpersonal, time & project management, and communication skills
• Ability to work calmly under pressure, and meet tight deadlines with a strong sense of accountability
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

The salary range for this role is between $100,000 and $110,000. The relevant salary range will vary depending on wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training, degrees, and certifications.
