Ad Insertion Specialist

Required Skills & Experience

• Linear IP-based broadcast TV ad insertion concepts and knowledge

• IP unicast and multicast delivery/communications

• SeaChange SPOT+ system or other IP based ad inserter working knowledge

• Experience with SQL server

• Working knowledge of encoding technologies and concepts

• Experience in Windows and Linux OS

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Advertising background

• Experience in Aspera transfer and orchestrator a plus

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an Ad Insertion Specialist for a Digital and Entertainment Fortune 500 client. This candidate is responsible for ensuring the successful insertion of custom, client-sold advertisements into video streams. While the process is largely automated, the ads are tailored and must be accurately delivered to viewers nationwide. The individual will monitor ad ingestion systems, respond to issues as they arise, and participate in a rotating on-call schedule as part of a 24/7/365 operations team. They will work closely with vendors and content providers to ensure ad content is correct and systems are functioning properly. For example, when networks like TNT or BET allocate ad slots for this client, this person ensures their selected commercials are inserted and aired as intended. Strong communication with the VOC team and the ad insertion team is also essential. The role also includes Tier 2 support responsibilities for the ad insertion ecosystem, including day-to-day maintenance and issue resolution.
