Jeff’s commitment to Live and Local reflects what makes our industry special- the connection we have with the communities we serve. It’s exciting to be part of a leadership team focused on growing that connection and building the future of local radio.

Rodney Day shared thisSome food for thought!Rodney Day shared thisThe biggest change to Google Search in twenty years just happened, and almost no one is talking about what it means for your business. AI Overviews are now reaching 2.5 billion people every month, and Google itself has said that links are becoming an afterthought. Your homepage, the one you probably paid a fortune to build, is no longer the front door to your business. What sits in that spot now is a single AI generated answer, decided for the user, no click required. The shift is straightforward once you see it. Your reviews, testimonials, press mentions, and third-party validation are what AI is actually pulling from. With more than half of online content now AI generated, the models are getting sharper at telling real documented expertise apart from content that was written to sound convincing. I break down the exact shifts every founder and executive should be making right now in my Substack, along with why this is the biggest reputation reset of the decade. #artificialintelligence #leadership #futureofwork #marketing #teamhuman

Rodney Day reposted thisRodney Day reposted thisTrust still matters. And the latest study from Katz Radio Group shows something many advertisers forget. Radio ranks highest in trust among all major media. 85% of adults say radio is trustworthy, ahead of TV, newspapers, podcasts, magazines, and far ahead of social media. That matters because trust drives response. When people trust the message, they are more likely to search, click, and buy. This is one of the main reasons campaigns that use both radio and digital tend to outperform digital alone. Research from Nielsen and Thinkbox has shown that adding trusted mass media like radio increases the effectiveness of digital by: Improving brand recall Increasing search activity Lowering cost per acquisition Increasing total ROI Radio builds credibility. Digital captures demand. Together they create momentum. If your digital campaign is doing the work alone, you may be missing the trust factor that makes people act.

Rodney Day reacted on thisRodney Day reacted on thisAfter more than four decades in broadcasting and media, it’s time for a new career focus: retirement. In seventh grade, one of my teachers asked us what we wanted to be when we grew up. While many of my classmates dreamed of becoming athletes, doctors, or astronauts, I wrote that I wanted to be a famous radio DJ. A few years later, at 15, I was fortunate enough to land the 6 p.m. to midnight DJ shift at my hometown radio station. That opportunity sparked a passion that would shape the next 43 years of my life. The journey took me from an on-air personality to advertising sales, television and radio leadership, corporate management, consulting, public speaking, and becoming an author. Looking back, I accomplished far more than that seventh-grade kid ever dreamed possible. Professionally, I was blessed by the incredible people who challenged me, believed in me, taught me, inspired me, and became lifelong friends. To everyone I’ve had the privilege to work for, work with, lead, mentor, learn from, and serve alongside, thank you. You are the reason this journey was so extraordinary, and I’ll carry that gratitude with me always. While broadcasting became my career, there has always been one love greater than this industry: my wife, Bridget. I have loved Bridget longer than I’ve been in broadcasting. Through every move, promotion, and career turn that took us to nearly every corner of the country, she stood beside me with unwavering support. She sacrificed her own career to raise our three children and gave me the freedom to pursue mine. Any success attached to my name belongs equally to her. If given the chance to do it all over again, I wouldn’t change a thing. Every lesson, every risk, every success, every setback, every friendship, and every mile of this incredible journey shaped who I am today. For that, I am forever grateful. I don’t know what that seventh-grade kid would think if I could tell him how it all turned out. But I’d like to think he’d be proud. He dreamed of becoming a radio DJ. He got so much more. And so did I. John john@johnhannonmedia.com www.johnhannonmedia.com https://lnkd.in/g5k_CaGK https://lnkd.in/gcTVekjb https://lnkd.in/gQtpRbzZ

Radio Connects
11K followers
https://lnkd.in/g4VD7cUG Futuri executive Kathy Eagle notes that #radio sellers are’ navigating more than ever before and striving to rise to the challenge of it all. #Advertisers want hard #proof: data, #insights, and confidence that their campaigns will deliver. Meanwhile, #sellers carry the weight of it all: prospecting, research, client service, and reporting can be a heavy lift and chip away at the real job: selling. That’s why #AI is such a powerful tool in media sales. It significantly lightens the load. It clears away busywork and trims hours of clicking so #reps can spend more time where it matters: face-to-face with clients. From Hours of Research to Minutes of Insight In the past, preparing for a client meeting could take hours. Sellers had to dig through market reports, audience data, and client histories just to walk into a conversation with confidence. AI tools like #TopLine now condense that process into minutes, delivering market research, category insights, and even personality profiles that help sellers tailor their approach to each customer. The result is that sellers spend less time clicking and more time connecting. Cold calls become warm conversations, with reps already equipped to talk about the challenges and opportunities most relevant to a client’s business. Boosting Confidence and Campaign Impact This shift is also changing the psychology of selling. When account executives know they’re walking into a meeting with fresh, relevant data in hand, they project confidence, and clients feel it. Campaigns become more targeted, creative, and effective because they’re grounded in real insights, not guesswork. In a competitive advertising market, that kind of preparation does more than win meetings. It wins renewals and long-term relationships. The Real Advantage: Time The one thing that changes everything: Time. Provide sellers with AI tools like TopLine and give them back 10+ hours that they can convert into first meetings, second meetings, and signed orders. For radio companies, the path forward is not adding more workflows or extra steps. The real opportunity is to clear the clutter between research and pitch so sellers can do what they do best: sell. In a market where advertisers have endless options, the teams who spend less time bogged down in prep and more time creating value in the room will be the ones who stand out.
