This was the culmination of two years of the Hall 're-imagining' its induction ceremony, and they stuck the landing in the face of unprecedented demand. A step toward resolving an 18-month dispute over prize money and player representation. The announcement coincides with the U.S. Open revealing prize money expected to top $100M for the first time. Rob Schaefer reposted thisRob Schaefer reposted thisI am thrilled to share that I’m writing my first book about how technology is helping athletes maximize their abilities to push the boundaries of human performance, mitigate injury risk and extend careers. Earlier this year, I signed a book deal with St. Martin's Press to write The Athlete Code for publication in 2028. Innovation in sports has shifted from X’s and O’s to 1’s and 0’s, with data and tech replacing tradition and tactics as talent development and injury prevention become the new fertile ground for a competitive advantage. Each chapter will be a case study on an area of performance gains, identifying the technological tools and sport science that have helped make these advances possible. I’ve spent time with Olympic gold medalists, world record holders, team sport MVPs and the next generation of elite talent — their perspective, along with the coaches that train them, will drive the narrative. My work with Sports Business Journal won’t change, and I will be writing this alongside my usual reporting there. Thanks to Mark Tavani at David Black Agency and Tim Bartlett and Kevin Reilly at St Martin’s for their counsel in making this project happen. Let’s go.

Jason W. built Mosaic, a fan-created baseball app featuring multi-view streaming, customizable interfaces and new ways to follow games. The project gained traction among users and eventually caught the attention of MLB leadership. Four months later, MLB hired him to help develop the next generation of digital fan experiences.
