Rick Paquin shared thisJust returned from three days of perch fishing at Cass and Pike Bay. Both are kicking out ALLOT of perch, but more sorting is required at Pike. Ice is in great shape, and you can drive full size trucks anyplace you want to go. There were lots of folks on the shallow.... https://lnkd.in/eVxVnbH

Rick Paquin shared thisRick G made it out to the Horseshoe chain with Tom for a few hours today. Ice conditions are pretty inconsistent from what I saw. Found ice anywhere from 10inches of hard ice to 6 inches with half being soft and slushy. One bay we hit had several layers of crappy wet ice with just a couple inches of hard ice at the bottom Fishing wasn't the greatest, but with a bit of effort and a lot of holes drilled, we managed to put together an ok outing. We found a mix of gills, crappie and tiny perch in more than one area, depths we found them in were 8-20+ ft, most consistent depth was 10ft close to the weeds. I had most of my better fish come from a 4mm wonderbread jig, tipped with a plastic white mayfly. FishingMinnesota.com

Capturing the Heart of Agriculture Through Storytelling Photography In the world of agriculture—whether on a sprawling ranch, a family farm, or an agritourism destination—visual storytelling is a powerful way to connect with consumers, industry peers, and communities. Strong imagery goes beyond aesthetics; it captures the grit, passion, and values that define these operations, building trust and fostering deeper connections. Ranching: A Legacy of Stewardship Ranching is more than a livelihood—it’s a legacy. Photographs of a cowboy silhouetted against a golden sunset, working alongside his cattle, or mending a fence on an open prairie tell a story of stewardship, resilience, and respect for the land. These images reinforce the values of family heritage, sustainability, and dedication that define ranching life. Farming: The Backbone of Communities Farming images highlight the hard work, diversity, and innovation that drive agricultural production. From a farmer tending to crops at sunrise to a bustling farmers’ market showcasing fresh, locally grown produce, these visuals celebrate the connection between growers and consumers. Authentic images build transparency, demonstrating the care and effort behind the food we eat. Agritourism: Bridging the Gap Between Consumers and Agriculture Agritourism thrives on experience and connection. Families picking apples, children exploring pumpkin patches, riding in a farm wagon pulled by a team of horses, and visitors learning about sustainable farming practices all create powerful visuals that inspire curiosity and engagement. These images invite consumers to step into the agricultural world, fostering appreciation and support for local food systems and rural economies. The Power of Authenticity in Agriculture Consumers today seek transparency and authenticity. Meaningful images—whether of a rancher’s daily routine, the hands that harvest our food, or the joy of agritourism experiences—forge emotional connections. They allow people to see and understand the dedication behind every product, every farm tour, and every harvest season, inspiring trust in the brands and individuals behind them. Why This Matters for Agricultural Businesses For those in agriculture, investing in high-quality photography isn’t just about marketing—it’s about storytelling. The right visuals help businesses stand out, communicate their values, and create lasting impressions that go beyond transactions. They bring consumers closer to the heart of agriculture, turning them into loyal advocates for rural businesses, family farms, and sustainable food production. Are you using photography to share your agricultural story? Let’s connect—I’d love to help bring your vision to life through compelling, authentic imagery.

Behind every brand are real people doing the work. My brother lives several states away and calls when he has a long-drive. Sometimes the stars align and he calls when I have time for a lengthy catch-up session as well. He’s been around cattle his whole life. Runs his own feedyard with a team and has a cow herd. He knows the business as well as anyone. So, naturally, we talk about cattle and beef a lot. Yesterday's conversation drifted into the last great steak we both ate. We were talking about what he had in his freezer and he said something that stuck with me. “It tastes good enough… especially for the price.” To him, that’s a win. Good value. Solid beef. Does the job needed. I just laughed and told him we clearly shop differently. Because for me, a “good enough” eating experience with beef is actually a disappointment. I want great flavor. Consistency. The kind of steak you look forward to cooking. I would rather not cook beef at home if I know it doesn't have the ability to taste great. Same product category. Two beef lovers. Two completely different expectations. And that’s the trap a lot of experts fall into. We assume everyone evaluates "good" the way we do. They don’t. Some customers want the best eating experience they can find. Some want beef that’s dependable and priced right. Neither one is wrong. But if your message talks about the wrong definition of value or to the wrong customer, it won’t land. Know how your customer. Know their expectations. Then meet them there with the right message.

Welcome to Episode Eight of DianesFarmDozen.com. This one might ruffle a few feathers. The lesson? Simple…not always easy… No excuses. This is one of the most powerful takeaways I brought with me from the farm into business. And it's one I encourage every client and entrepreneur I work with to adopt. People often say, “It’s not an excuse, it’s a reason.” But let’s be honest — most of the time, a reason is just a dressed-up excuse. It’s a way of rationalizing why something didn’t get done. But here’s the truth I learned on the farm… Animals don’t care that it’s raining. They still have to eat. And the work still has to get done. I tell a story in this episode about a baby calf that became my responsibility at around age 10. And the rainy morning that etched this “no excuses” mindset deep into who I am. That calf, that moment, and what my dad did that day. I’ll never forget it. When you start living with a no excuses mentality (in your business and your life) you stop blaming and start owning. You don’t wait around or pass the buck. You show up, rain or shine. If you’ve ever caught yourself saying, “Well, the reason I didn’t…” This one’s for you. And if you want the full list of all 12 lessons from the farm that’ll sharpen your business mindset, grab it at DianesFarmDozen.com. Let me know what this one brings up for you. It’s simple, but it might just be the game-changer.

🐾 Veterinarians: Why YOU Need to Be the Voice Pet Owners Hear Online 🐾 When a pet owner notices a strange symptom, what’s the first thing they do? 👉 They Google it. Before they ever call your clinic… before they decide to spend time or money… they’re searching for answers. Here’s the problem: most of what they find isn’t from YOU, the medical expert. It’s from retailers, bloggers, influencers. People with zero veterinary credentials. You only get a few minutes a couple times a year to educate clients in person. But online? That’s where you have 365 days of opportunity to show up. ✅ Showing up in search means: Educating your clients (and future ones) before misinformation reaches them. Becoming the go-to authority for local pet parents. Creating trust before they ever walk through your doors. Veterinary care today starts online. If you're not showing up, you're not in the conversation. And if you're not in the conversation... you're losing the opportunity to guide it. 🧠 Information is the primary experience of veterinary medicine for the modern pet owner. Make sure it’s coming from the right source: you. If you want help changing that, grab a free consultation on my calendar: https://bit.ly/480s3IM #VeterinaryMarketing #VeterinaryPractice #ClientEducation #VeterinaryLeadership #SEO #PetHealth #Veterinarian #GeniusVets

Having trouble getting organic traffic to your website? The problem usually isn’t effort. It’s structure. This is one of the first things I look at when traffic is flat. If your website isn’t organized into clear categories, search engines and users struggle to understand what you actually do. Everything gets blurred. I see this mistake all the time when diagnosing sites: • services scattered across pages • unrelated offerings grouped together • no clear main focus areas When that happens, visibility stalls. Grouping related services is critical if you want to: • fully cover your industry • show expertise • help search engines understand relevance • help users find what they need faster Here’s how it should work. You start with main categories. These are your core services. Each category gets its own main page. Inside that main page, you clearly list and explain all related services that fall under it. For example: Instead of one “Services” page with everything listed… You create: • One main service category page • Supporting service pages under it • Content that all links back to the main category What I see after this change: Before → scattered pages, no traction After → clearer signals, growing impressions, steady traffic This isn’t about doing more. It’s about organizing what you already offer in a way that makes sense. When your website is structured properly, organic traffic finally has room to grow.

Grabbed a few clips at Wanner's Pride and Joy Farm this evening. This farm has a unique story, check it out below! Seven generations of the Wanner family have developed the Pride-N-Joy Farm located in Narvon, Pennsylvania, in eastern Lancaster County. The farm was founded in 1840 and is currently operated by Alfred Wanner and his two sons, Matt and John, with 600 milking cows. Their goal is to keep the farm viable for future generations. In early 2006, the Wanners began to improve their manure management by constructing increased manure storage capacity, manure solids separation, and an anaerobic digester. The anaerobic digester, completed in the summer of 2007, produces approximately 2,000 kWh of electricity daily, more than three times the amount of electricity the farm currently consumes. With plans to sell the surplus generic electricity to their power provider, the Wanners turned to NativeEnergy to provide an upfront purchase of the digester’s RECs and carbon offsets, helping to fund the project. Other benefits from the project include producing digested manure solids, which, after composting, can be sold to landscaping contractors. Digested manure liquids, which have reduced odor compared to untreated manure, will be irrigated on nearby fields as natural fertilizer. Environmental Benefits Displaces polluting local grid-based electricity with renewable energy Reduces 35,337 metric tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions Reduces the farm’s nutrient runoff, odor, and pathogens Creates safer organic fertilizer to apply to the fields Social Benefits Reduces energy and nutrient management costs for the farm Creates bedding for the cows, replacing expensive and hard-to-find wood shavings Preserves open space, local agriculture, and the traditional community
