Want to “wow investors”? Start by removing surprises. Most leadership teams can explain AUM, flows, and performance all day long. But when the conversation turns to revenue, billing, exceptions, and payouts, things get… fuzzy. That fuzziness is expensive. It creates forecast risk, credibility risk, and a lot of manual cleanup that never shows up on a slide, until it does. Revenue ops is how you fix it. There are 4 things on a wealth management site that make $5M+ clients say 'this is the one.' Yours probably has zero. I've worked with enough wealth management firms to spot the pattern. Some advisors have incredible credentials and beautiful websites. But they're not getting high-value clients. Then there's the advisor with a basic site closing $5M+ clients consistently. What's the difference? It's not credentials. It's not design. It's 4 specific elements high-net-worth prospects look for. Here they are: 1. Ultra-specific client profile Not "we serve high-net-worth individuals." What works: "I work with tech executives at post-Series B startups navigating $2M-$10M RSU grants." "I specialize in physicians post-practice sale with $3M-$8M liquid." When a prospect thinks "Holy shit, that's exactly me"—you're in. Most sites: "We serve successful professionals." That's nobody. 2. Proof you've handled their exact situation Not: "We help clients achieve goals." But: "Structured 47 RSU exercises. Average tax savings: $240K year one." Or: "Managed 19 business exits $5M-$30M. Protected avg 87% from taxes." The pattern: Numbers. Situations. Outcomes. Vague promises don't work on people with $5M. Most sites: Generic testimonials or nothing. 3. Clear process with timeline High-stakes decisions require certainty. Show them: Week 1: Financial review (2 meetings) Week 2-3: Strategy development Week 4: Plan presentation with 3 scenarios Ongoing: Quarterly reviews, annual tax planning Why: Removes mystery. Reduces anxiety. "Contact us to learn more" is asking for a blind leap. Most sites: Hide the process or keep it vague. 4. Transparent fee structure Not "competitive fees." But actual numbers: "1% AUM first $1M, 0.75% next $2M, 0.5% above $3M. $15K minimum." Or ranges: "Clients with $3M-$7M pay $22K-$45K annually." Why: They're not scared of fees. They're scared of surprises. Transparency signals confidence. Most sites: Hide pricing completely. What happens with all 4: Rebuilt a site last month. Added all 4 elements. Before: 42 forms/month 11 consultations Avg AUM: $900K After (90 days): 27 forms/month 19 consultations Avg AUM: $2.8M Fewer inquiries. Better inquiries. Better clients. Wrong people self-selected out. Right people thought "Finally, someone who gets it." The test: Look at your homepage. Can a $5M+ prospect answer these in 30 seconds: Do you specialize in people like me? Have you solved my exact problem? What's your process? What will this cost? If no, you're losing high-value clients. The truth: Your credentials are great. But none of that matters if prospects can't quickly determine: "This person is for me." Advisors who do not help clients calculate the opportunity cost of capital raising are missing the most important metric in the entire process. The biggest hidden cost of capital raising is founder time. Not legal fees. Not dilution. The months spent in meetings instead of building the business. After facilitating thousands of capital raises, the pattern is absolute. Founders who spend three to six months raising capital lose more in opportunity cost than they gain in capital raised. The calculation advisors should run with every client: What is the value of founder time per hour. Not salary. The value created for the business annually divided by working hours. Then multiply by time spent raising capital. For a founder creating $500K in annual business value, the hourly rate is $250. A three month raise at 20 hours per week costs $60K in opportunity cost. A six month raise costs $120K. This does not include distraction costs to the rest of the organisation. Revenue that stalls. Product development that slows. Customer issues that get deprioritised. The advisory practices that understand this help clients build infrastructure that compresses timelines and reduces distraction costs. Templates for every communication type. FAQ documents that answer repeated investor queries. Structured processes that run independently of founder availability. Data rooms accessible 24/7. Monthly update cadences that maintain visibility without requiring constant attention. This infrastructure eliminates 80% of manual work. Investor meetings compress from three to five hours to 30 minutes. Document preparation drops from hours to minutes. Follow-up shifts from individual emails to automated distribution. The hidden benefit: Improved conversion rates. When investors can access information at 10pm instead of waiting days for responses, friction drops. Lower friction means higher conversion. Prompt Makeover #1: From Generic to Specific using RAFT 🛠️ Prompting isn’t just typing in what you want. It’s how you ask that changes what you get. Here’s a quick before & after using the RAFT framework (Role, Audience, Format, Topic): ❌ The Generic Prompt: “Explain why Q2 sales dropped.” Vague. AI won’t know who’s asking, who’s reading, or how to format the response. ✅ The RAFT Makeover: "Act as a data analyst (R), writing to a senior executive (A), using a short email (F), explaining the drop in Q2 sales (T)." Result? A structured, jargon-free email that makes sense to a busy exec. Takeaway: Better prompts = better results. Use RAFT when you need clarity, structure, and a response tailored to your audience.

THE BLAME PATTERN Every time fixed ops numbers stall, the same pattern shows up. We look at advisors. We talk about organization. We add training. We add pressure. What we don’t do is look hard enough at the systems they’re forced to work inside. When advisors are bouncing between six dashboards, chasing approvals, clarifying pricing, and relaying information that should already be visible, that’s not a performance issue. That’s a design failure. Smart people don’t suddenly become inefficient. They get buried under disconnected tools.
