Nothing makes a point quite like a great GIF, but while the Internet is chock full of various GIFs, the moment often passes while searching for exactly the right one. Hulu decided to create a one-stop shop for TV fans to find high-quality, high-res GIFs, built for sharing: The Perfect GIF. Since Hulu's specialty is TV, they have access to a massive catalog of both classic and new TV shows. This allowed them to create a vast library of GIFs that provided something for everyone. By rotating the featured GIFs on the landing page, Hulu could nimbly highlight new acquisitions. The Perfect GIF aimed to leverage Hulu's substantial following of TV fans and provide them with a fun service, while building brand loyalty for both Hulu and the represented television shows. When fans are able to easily access The Perfect GIF, everyone wins. -

This past holiday season, Hulu's gift to TV fans around the world bottled the magic of the holidays in an innovative GIF experience unlike any other. The Perfect GIF generator paired users' tweets and Tumblr posts with the perfect TV GIF – it's Hulu's way of saying, "We love you as much as you love TV."
TV fans were directed to the site and invited to share their feelings about the holidays (good or bad) in 140 characters or less. As fans typed in how they were feeling, a predictive text engine scanned their entries and searched a massive library of TV moments to find the perfect GIF that typified their holiday sentiment. By merging content, creativity and technology, Hulu asks for 140 characters and gives the GIF that's worth a thousand words.
The results were overwhelmingly positive both from a qualitative and quantitative standpoint. Fans of Hulu loved the way the GIFs perfectly echoed their holiday sentiments and the increased word of mouth and exposure that the campaign drove contributed to 52% more impressions and 43% more shares for the same period of time versus 2013. -

We built a year-long campaign, from pre-announce to launch, and developed a multi-channel communication strategy to engage, educate and entertain fans while staying true to the brand DNA. Our approach was to activate existing core fans and use them to reach and influence a broader, more mainstream audience.
The French Revolution was the setting for Assassins Creed Unity and we aimed for nothing short of a revolutionary campaign.
