Nicholas Lehman shared this“We know that health and wellness are foundational to creative work and longevity in our industry, but many music creators struggle to access and afford health insurance,” said ASCAP Chief Strategy and Digital Officer Nick Lehman (pictured). “That is why it’s important for us to launch this service for our members, providing easy access to high-quality care at very reasonable costs – regardless if they have insurance or not. As the only truly creator-first PRO in the US, our commitment to our members is to support them with the resources they need to be at their creative best.” https://lnkd.in/eb2RUFJF

Nicholas Lehman shared thisNick Lehman, Chief Strategy and Digital Officer at US collecting society ASCAP, took up that theme of flexibility and willingness to license. “We have to be championing music rights, the rights of songwriters, of publishers, of creators… and we have to do it in a way that not only protects the rights, but also that listens to the technology companies and what they need to innovate,” he said. https://lnkd.in/euekMzruMusic Publishing and AI: ‘It’s not two different sides. One thing I was most excited about was the opportunity to work with Dolly Parton. Dolly left an indelible mark on country music, but beyond that she was loved by everyone, everywhere. Her legacy is filled with music for the ages, but also her generosity. The Academy will work to ensure Dolly’s music and mission will always be amplified. Rest in Peace Dolly.

Reimagining Global Media Operations I recently had the privilege of speaking at Dolby’s Tech Summit, a company that has consistently defined the gold standards of audio and image science for content creators. During my time running Post Production and Studio Operations at Disney, we partnered with Dolby to pioneer a few industry firsts including the launch of 7.1 audio to the introduction of Dolby Atmos, object-based immersive audio, and Dolby Vision, High Dynamic Range image. Speaking with this group of talented engineers and innovators felt like a full-circle moment in my journey through the entertainment industry. My keynote, titled "Strategy in an Era of Disruption," focused on the drivers of change in our business and where we as an Industry need to go next. The pace of change has never been faster, and the next chapter will require that we rethink the architecture of how we create, finish and deliver content. Some of the themes I explored: The industry is at an inflection point. We’ve enabled global day-and-date distribution, digital production/post-production and streaming. Now, with the emergence of generative AI, we’re entering an era where creativity, operations and automation must coexist at scale. Moving the industry forward requires focusing on what enables innovation at scale: 🎬 Production + Post-Production: Faster turnaround, lower costs, without compromising quality 🧰 Enterprise-Grade Tools: Designed for global businesses 💡 AI as a Creative Tool: Enhancing, not replacing, human creativity through transparent, controllable outputs 🌎 Global Production/Post Infrastructure: Secure, seamless, location-agnostic ☁️ MovieLabs 2030 Vision: Building for interoperability and efficiency across cloud environments 🧠 Automation Intelligence: Automate repetitive tasks to increase speed and precision; robust data infrastructure enabling better AI 🤝 Strategic Partnerships: Trusted partners who can deliver end-to-end solutions ™️ Rights + IP Protections: Foundational to long-term sustainability In addition to these overall industry needs, I talked about what changes are in progress: 🎥 AI enhanced Visual Development/VFX 🎛️ Automated mastering, QA, translation/subs and global servicing and what's next: 🤖 AI “agents” tracking the status of work across all suppliers and workflows 🚀 NEW AI workflows streamlining today’s overly complex process. Our industry is at a crossroads where none of us can shape the future alone. It requires collaboration across content creators, technology innovators and industry leaders. To my fellow operators managing thru this disruption, what needs, priorities or ideas would you add to this conversation? #MediaTech #Innovation #FutureOfMedia #AI #Dolby #MovieLabs2030 #MediaSupplyChain #ContentProduction #CreativeTech #TechSummit

The proposed Fox-Roku deal is much more about the Connected TV stack than streaming subs… Fox would gain: • Content (Fox, Tubi) • Distribution (Roku OS, devices, The Roku Channel) • Advertising technology • First-party audience data from 100M+ streaming households The biggest opportunity is advertising. Combining Roku's data and ad platform with Fox's premium sports and news audiences creates a much stronger proposition for marketers seeking scale, targeting, and measurement in CTV. It also accelerates a broader industry trend: media companies increasingly want to control content, distribution, ad tech, and consumer data under one roof. The market has developed an ever increasing allergy to data porosity and ad dollars not chasing performance. If approved, this deal could reshape the competitive landscape for Connected TV and make Fox one of the most influential players in CTV advertising. #CTV #ConnectedTV #Streaming #Advertising #Media #AdTech #Fox #Roku
