Kevan Blanco shared thisI am super proud of our team!Kevan Blanco shared thisPrufrock-1 and Prufrock-2 arrived at the Westgate and Encore Resorts! The Encore project (Prufrock-2) took approximately 10 weeks with the starting point of arriving at an empty parking lot, mobilization, launch, tunneling 2,350 feet, and retrieval. This is a good step towards building infrastructure projects in a matter of weeks versus years.

I've always believed that the best careers are built by staying curious, saying yes to new opportunities, and never being afraid to learn something new. Adobe has given me the chance to do exactly that. I've been challenged in the best possible ways, encouraged to think bigger, and trusted to grow into roles I never imagined I'd have. What I'm most grateful for are the incredible people I've had the privilege to work with. You've inspired me, supported me, celebrated the wins, helped me through the tough moments, and made coming to work something I genuinely look forward to. I couldn't have asked for a better team or a better company. Ten years later, I'm still learning. I'm still growing. And I'm still excited about what's possible. Kevan Blanco reacted on thisKevan Blanco reacted on thisAs we wrap up Snowflake Summit and Dev Day, I'm reflecting on a conversation I had today with Grace Gong, Scott Budman, and Sanjiv Das about careers, change, and the future of work. There is no question that we're living through a period of significant change. AI is advancing rapidly, and it's natural for people to wonder what that means for their careers and the future of work. Some jobs will change, and new roles will emerge. But the real opportunity is to use these tools to remove friction from work and create more space for learning, problem-solving, creativity, and human connection. I left the discussion optimistic not because change will be easy, but because I've seen how resilient and adaptable people can be when given the opportunity to learn and grow. The conversations at Snowflake Summit this week reinforced something I believe deeply: technology is at its best when it expands human potential. Thank you to Grace, Scott, Sanjiv, and everyone who joined us and contributed to the discussion. Huge congratulations to The Diggeridoos from Virginia Tech on mining 129” and taking the Champion Award, but also to Talpa Tunneling UPV from Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) for Innovation and The Boring Illini from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign as Rookie Team of the Year! It was great interacting with teams throughout and to finally meet everyone in person, with over 150 attendees from the US, Spain, and Canada. Hope to see some familiar faces around The Boring Company this summer and beyond, and also looking forward to kicking off the 2027 Not-a-Boring Competition soon. Our members had an incredible experience learning more about the engineering, construction, and large-scale infrastructure behind your projects. The opportunity to see these Tunnel Boring Machines up close and ask questions directly to your team made a lasting impact on everyone who attended. A special thank you to Patrick Dyer for leading an outstanding tour and taking the time to walk us through the work being done; it was truly one of the most engaging and informative tours we’ve had. We’d also like to thank Diana Benavides and Chloe Matyis for coordinating and helping organize the visit; we really appreciate all the effort that went into making this possible. We’re grateful for the opportunity and look forward to staying connected!

The company shared the update in a post on social media platform X. According to The Boring Company’s post, the new tunnel measures 2.28 miles, making it the company’s longest single Vegas Loop tunnel to date. The new tunnel marks the fourth tunnel constructed near Westgate Las Vegas as the Vegas Loop network continues expanding across the city. Link in comments.

Kevan Blanco reacted on thisKevan Blanco reacted on thisWhelp, after 8 wild years, it’s time for me to log off from Meta for the last time. ✌️ When I joined back in 2018, we were still Facebook, the metaverse sounded like a sci-fi movie plot, and I was just trying to figure out where the good snacks were hidden. Fast forward to today, and I’ve had a front-row seat to some of the most insane growth, rebrands, and pivots in tech history. As a recruiter, my job was literally to convince brilliant people to come build the future with us. And let me tell you, selling the dream is a lot easier when you’re surrounded by a team that actually makes it happen. We hired for everything from Reality Labs to AI, navigating the highs, the lows, and the "wait, we're calling it Meta now?" moments. Here are a few things I’m taking with me: 1. Don't take yourself too seriously. We’re building cool tech, not curing cancer. A little humor goes a long way when the pressure is on. 2. The people make the place. To every candidate who trusted me, every hiring manager who partnered with me, and every teammate who kept me sane—thank you. You are the real MVPs. 3. Adaptability is everything. If you can survive a massive rebrand, a global pandemic, and the pivot to AI, you can handle pretty much anything. To my Meta fam: keep crushing it, keep building wild things, and please, save some of those micro-kitchen snacks for the new folks. I’m taking a minute to decompress before jumping into my next adventure. If you need me, I’ll be touching grass and aggressively not checking my email.
