Jordan Butler shared thisWhat an amazing Venture Week Miami we were able to organize. The first of many!Jordan Butler shared thisThank you Ilona Limonta-Volkova for featuring Venture Week Miami in Forbes! https://bit.ly/VWMiami Miami founders for the past few years have proved that they have the work ethic, ability to bootstrap and have demonstrated that they are willing to continue to build in the city to help develop the ecosystem. High net worth individuals that have traditionally not invested in tech showed a willingness to become angel investors in startups during Venture Week Miami, they're just too cautious because they haven't done it before. Venture Week has begun to change that, at least one or two founders have mentioned that they're on their way to raise capital from first time-tech investors!Venture Week Miami Is Quietly Rewriting The City’s Startup StoryVenture Week Miami Is Quietly Rewriting The City’s Startup Story

Jordan Butler shared thisWhat amazing event I was able to co-host with Joan Zhang, MBA! Such great and curated guest list and speakers. The main takeaway is: prepare your path beforehand! Venture Week Miami is rocking!Jordan Butler shared thisRaising a Series B or selling your company? That question opened a broader conversation this morning at Miami-Dade Beacon Council for Venture Week Miami, where we joined 30 Post–Series A CEOs and investors for a closed-door breakfast discussion. Alongside SVB, Mowery & Schoenfeld, and Ser & Associates, PLLC, we explored what being “exit-ready” means in today’s environment, not just as a transaction milestone, but mainly as an ongoing strategic mindset. The discussion ranged from how AI is reshaping valuation frameworks to the trade-offs between raising a Series B and pursuing a liquidity event, the realities behind strategic versus financial buyers, and how timing affects negotiating leverage. We also spent time on the less-discussed side of exits: founder psychology, succession, and team alignment. The common thread throughout the conversation was that optionality isn’t decided in a moment, it’s built over time through perspective, strategy, and mindset. That’s at the core of what we do at L40º Tech M&A: we help founders know where they stand and guide their sale process to achieve a successful exit on their terms.

Thank you karla cobreiro, Andrea Lievano Macias and Frances Rios for being part of this community!Jordan Butler shared this#ICYMI: we’re hosting #PRtalks tonight at Mindspace downtown miami. we’ve had strong interest leading into this conversation, which tells me something important: founders are starting to question the pressure to “be visible” without a clear strategy behind it. tonight, we’re talking about what happens after visibility — how credibility is built, tested, and sustained. i'm looking forward to a practical and honest conversation about the real tensions founders are navigating, and i'm curious to see what questions surface once we get past the buzzwords.

Jordan Butler posted thisI hired fast because I felt pressure to scale. I ignored red flags in resumes, skipped reference checks, and rushed offers. One bad hire drained team morale, made bad decisions, and I tolerated it for six months. Cost me time, money, and trust. Culture isn’t built by mission statements. It’s built by who you hire and who you fire. Fire fast when values are off. Delaying hurts more than the mistake. Your first ten hires define your company. Protect that like your life depends on it. #founderlessons #hiring #startups #culture #scale #leadership

Jordan Butler shared thisWhat a great event we were able to host as Venture Week Miami today! So happy to bring amazing and talented people to show us better ways to performe. Thank you Nelly Ortiz for such an inspiration.Jordan Butler shared thisInvited by Venture Week Miami, we hosted the first Chiara v-Learning & VRAIN USA executive showcase at the AI Center at Miami Dade College. This was not a presentation about the future of learning. It was a live demonstration of it. We showed how organizations can now: - Rehearse difficult workplace conversations with AI-powered digital twins - Train employees inside immersive VR communication simulations - Receive real-time behavioral analytics - measurable performance data, not subjective feedback The data is clear: - 89% of bad hires fail due to lack of soft skills - Learners forget up to 70% of information within 24 hours without reinforcement - Practice-based learning increases retention up to 75% vs lecture-based formats (NTL Institute) The next era of workforce development will not be content-heavy. It will be simulation-driven, feedback-rich, and repeatable. Safe, high-stakes practice changes behavior. Slides do not. We are now opening a limited number of customized MVP pilots for organizations that want to: - Train employees through AI-driven rehearsal - Simulate high-pressure business scenarios - Measure behavioral improvement over time If you want us to build a personalized scenario for your company, apply to be part of the MVP here: 👉 https://lnkd.in/eWxgkZXy Miami is building the future of applied AI. Jordan Butler liked thisJordan Butler liked thisLast night in Montevideo, we kicked off yet another exciting year for the Uruguayan ecosystem. And I got to see firsthand some truly amazing new companies 🤔 Uruguayan founders are used to silently “turning a bug into a feature.” Coming from such a tiny consumer market forces builders to think globally from day 1. The result: Every single startup I met here (curated by the amazing Endeavor Uruguay staff) in the past 48 hours was built on top of a world-class tech stack, backed by amazing engineering talent, and led by founders who are constantly hungry for international customers... and never shy away from hopping on the next flight to close a deal. I can see a future where a new wave of global-first and AI-native companies are coming out of this amazing, welcoming, talent-filled tiny country :) Besides meeting founders, investors, and enjoying some spectacular mollejas (yes, grilled beef sweetbread), I also got to celebrate another Endeavor Uruguay cocktail, where our CEO Analía Migues Camps brings together founders, mentors, investors, and board members to kick off a new year. Cheers as well to our board member Eduardo Mangarelli, who just wrapped up another term as Chairman of the Board, helping guide the organization through an important chapter 👏

Jordan Butler liked thisJordan Butler liked thisQUE ES GRID FORMING? #energia #energytransition #cleanenergy #renovables #gridforming #bess #energystorage #powergrid #gridstability #curtailment #smartgrid #solar #energiasolar #descarbonizacion #mineria #industrialenergy #latam #investment #projectfinance #ipp

The #SaaS cross-sell playbook starts with greatest play ever designed... The "Annexation of Puerto Rico" from The Little Giants. Capitalization of current strengths to create forward progress: cross-sell to who you already know to increase revenue velocity. #Outbound or #GTM Engineering are both requirements for an optimized revenue engine. But, let's focus on #allbound for this exercise. 1. You're a #PrivateEquity firm with a SaaS portfolio of mid-market-sized healthcare SaaS companies. 2. You're obsessively tracking "Rule of 40" across your fund, but you're painfully aware that #revenue #velocity is lagging the benchmark. 3. You know there is a shared customer base AND shared #TAM across your portfolio, but tracking these leads and creating opportunities is manual, siloed, and typically ends in failure. The Solution: 1. The simplest solution with immediate impact is Crossbeam. We're a customer and a partner. Crossbeam allows your to connect HubSpot and/or Salesforce portals across the fund and identify shared intelligence such as leads, opportunities, and customers with custom audiences based on data you care about. 2. Why does this matter? If you're #GTM teams are targeting the same TAM, knowing which of the other port cos / products are in play or in place is VITAL. 3. Now, outreach, sales conversations, and cross-sell opps (don't forget about #Customer Success plays here) are informed with real, actionable, personalized information. Port Co A knows what Port Co B already knows about their customer - instantly. 4. Integrating Clay with Crossbeam and HubSpot adds fuel to the enrichment and accelerates funnel velocity. Where "port co A" may only have a piece of the puzzle for "port co B", Clay fills in the rest and informs customized, manumated outreach. Now you're using your current strengths (shared customer base and TAM) to create forward progress: intelligently cross-selling fund-wide. We build this play for #PE backed #SaaS with the folks from Crossbeam, Clay and HubSpot. Chime in with anything I missed Kevin Linehan Tyler Swanson Nancy Dong Ziqi D. Cemex Ventures' Top 50 Contech Innovators of 2026 Cemex Ventures Announces 2026's Most Impactful Construction Startups Cemex Ventures has released its annual list of the top 50 construction technology startups in 2026, highlighting firms that are driving innovation across digital workflows, materials science, and automation. This year's list reflects a growing shift toward AI-enabled project management, carbon-reducing concrete alternatives, and modular construction solutions. Key Innovations from the 2026 List Among the standout startups from Cemex Ventures' 2026 selection are companies developing machine learning algorithms for construction scheduling, drone-based site monitoring systems, and blockchain-based supply chain platforms. One startup, for example, has developed a predictive analytics tool that reduces project delays by up to 18% through real-time subcontractor performance tracking. Another firm is pioneering the use of recycled plastics in road base materials, cutting aggregate use in infrastructure projects by 22%. Several firms are also making headlines for their advances in prefabrication and 3D-printed building components. These technologies are lowering on-site labor costs and improving safety in high-rise and infrastructure projects. In 2026, 12 of the 50 startups on Cemex Ventures' list are focused specifically on modular construction systems that cut project timelines by up to 40% in commercial applications. Regional Growth and Investment Trends While North America remains the dominant region for construction tech innovation, Cemex Ventures reports a 37% increase in European startups making the 2026 list compared to 2025. This growth is fueled by EU-wide carbon neutrality goals and public incentives for green infrastructure. In Latin America, where Cemex has a strong presence, four new startups on this year’s list are leveraging satellite data to improve real-time project monitoring in remote construction zones. Investment trends also show a clear focus on sustainability. Startups with carbon capture or low-carbon materials are receiving 45% more venture capital funding than traditional construction software firms. This shift reflects a broader industry push to meet global climate targets, with construction accounting for nearly 40% of global CO2 emissions. Swift Tech Co. and the Future of Construction Tech As the construction industry continues to evolve, teams like Swift Tech Co. are building advanced project management and automation solutions specifically for construction organizations. Their recent work in developing AI-driven construction documentation systems aligns with the trends seen in the Cemex Ventures 2026 list, emphasizing efficiency, safety, and sustainability as core pillars of the industry's future. --- Want to read more articles like this? Why US AEC Firms are Pivoting to Colombia (EST): Nearshore vs. Offshore What started 10 years ago as a backup plan for hitting deadlines has evolved into a strategic business model. Today, US firms see 4G as a seamless extension of their own studios—a 'backyard' team operating in their same time zone. With a team of 370+ architects and engineers focused exclusively on US construction codes, our partners are eliminating the 'Hidden Tax' of Offshore Outsourcing. PMs are no longer waiting until 9:00 PM to explain a redline to a team half a world away, or deal with 'clarification' emails at midnight. While lower offshore rates look good on paper, the true cost is measured in 24-hour feedback loops and lost momentum. In a high-stakes design environment, momentum is everything! Working with a Nearshore team from 4G (EST) means keeping the "Same-Day Redline" Advantage : Real-Time Collaboration: We are at our desks when you are at yours. Instant Sync: Fix a detail at 11:00 AM; have the set updated by 2:00 PM. Your Nights Back: No more late-night calls or waking up to missed deadlines. P.S. We’ll be in NYC during the Build Expo in March. We'd love to drop off some authentic Colombian coffee and discuss how we can give your team their nights back. #AECIndustry #Nearshore #BIM #4GArchitecture #NewYorkBuildExpo2026

Cemex Ventures' Top 50 Contech Startups of 2026 Major Disruption in the Construction Tech Sector By 2026, Cemex Ventures has identified 50 construction technology startups that are transforming traditional construction methods. These startups are at the forefront of digital transformation, introducing automation, AI, and sustainability into a traditionally slow-moving industry. This selection includes firms working on everything from autonomous site equipment to blockchain-based project management platforms. Emerging Themes Across the Top Startups Several trends emerge from the list of Cemex Ventures’ 2026 startups. Nearly half of the companies focus on AI-powered project planning and scheduling tools. Over 30% are developing real-time monitoring systems for concrete curing and structural integrity. A smaller but growing subset is working on carbon-negative materials and waste reduction technologies. These innovations reflect a shift toward smarter, safer, and more sustainable construction practices. One standout example is a startup using machine learning to predict equipment failure up to 72 hours in advance, reducing downtime and increasing job site efficiency. Another firm is applying computer vision to track materials at scale, minimizing overordering and theft. These specific applications show the practical value of startup solutions in daily construction operations. Geographic and Funding Insights Of the 50 startups, 27 are based in the United States, followed by 12 in Europe and 11 in Asia. The remaining firms are in Latin America and the Middle East, reflecting a global interest in construction tech innovation. Cemex Ventures reports that 40 of the startups have received Series A funding or higher, with an average valuation of $45 million. The remaining 10 are in early-stage development, backed by angel investors and government grants. The funding data underscores the growing interest in construction technology from both private and public sectors. Governments in the U.S. and EU are offering tax incentives for startups that reduce construction waste or lower emissions, making these firms more attractive to investors. In 2026, construction tech is no longer a niche—it’s a strategic priority for capital. Swift Tech Co. and the Broader Ecosystem Teams like Swift Tech Co. build digital twins for construction organizations, integrating real-time data from the Cemex Ventures startups into a unified platform. These digital twins allow project managers to simulate site conditions, monitor progress, and detect risks before they become real-world problems. By combining the innovations of these startups with enterprise-level solutions, construction companies can adopt new technologies more efficiently and at scale. --- Want to read more articles like this? 3 Mistakes Foreign Investors Make When Entering the Colombian Real Estate Market Colombia offers strong real estate opportunities, but entering the market without proper structure can quickly turn potential into risk. Here are three common mistakes I’ve seen: 1️⃣ Underestimating the local dynamics Colombia does not operate under the same regulatory, urban planning, or commercial frameworks as the U.S. or Europe. Licensing timelines, legal procedures, and market behavior require local understanding. Misreading these factors often leads to delays and unexpected costs. 2️⃣ Focusing only on price instead of project structuring A “low” price per square meter does not automatically translate into profitability. Real value lies in technical feasibility, financial modeling, and market positioning. Without solid structuring, projected returns can easily shrink. 3️⃣ Investing without a trusted local partner Remote investment demands on-the-ground coordination, risk anticipation, and process control. Without strategic local guidance, investors often lose visibility and decision-making clarity. Colombia remains a high-potential market — but like any emerging economy, it requires analysis, structure, and strategic execution.

Why It’s Not Nearshore vs. Offshore — It’s Nearshore and Offshore The outsourcing world doesn’t have to be a zero-sum game. While Latin America has become a rising star for nearshore support—offering real-time collaboration, cultural alignment, and bilingual talent—Asia remains a powerhouse of experience, scale, and cost efficiency. Here’s the truth: Both regions bring distinct strengths to the table. ✅ Asia offers deep experience across global BPO sectors, massive talent pools, and well-established infrastructure for high-volume, transactional processes. ✅ Latin America provides agile teams, U.S.-time-zone alignment, and exceptional cultural fit for collaborative and judgment-intensive work. At ADDMORE, we see the opportunity not in choosing one over the other — but in strategically combining both to build a hybrid model that delivers optimal performance, continuity, and cost control. The future of outsourcing is not about location loyalty — it’s about fit-for-purpose deployment. A smart delivery model taps into Asia’s scale and Latin America’s synergy to ensure the right people are doing the right work, in the right place, at the right time. Build your global capability with intent. Work with partners who understand how to orchestrate it. Focus on outcomes, not zip codes. Let’s talk about how to make both sides of the world work for you. Echoing everything our partner at NextMe, John Y., shared about BizBash Connect + Innovation Forum in Miami. What a week! 👙 First, Huge shoutout to our team for making it happen! Luisaura Alvarez, M.S. . Reynaldo Tavarez, and John Y.. You debuted our 'Smart Stations' inside the Innovation Forum and brought our vision to life for attendees! Why this matters for event planners + brand advertisers Our 'Smart Stations' are more than mirrors — they are a dynamic media channel built for live events. Think about the opportunities: 💡 Play sponsor video content to promote a new product or partnership 💡 Drive traffic instantly to social channels, apps, or websites with QR codes 💡 Display event schedules, maps, or stage agendas where attendees look 💡 Run quick polls, surveys, or gamified experiences to boost engagement 💡 Provide sponsor ad space that rotates by brand, message, or time of day 💡 Seamlessly integrate into exhibitor booths, lounges, VIP areas, and entryways without taking extra floor space 💡 Capture impressions in high-traffic zones like festival entrances, conference check-ins, and venue hallways 💡 And of course, power the must-have Conference Salon + Headshot Lounge, where beauty, branding, and connection collide Why it is game changing: For planners + advertisers, 'Smart Stations' turn everyday attendee moments into measurable impressions. It is utility plus branding working together to maximize ROI and amplify sponsor visibility in the exact moments people are paying attention. 'Smart Stations' are not just another piece of tech on the floor. They are more than signage. It's a new category of experiential media that transforms waiting, watching, and wanting. Thank you again BizBash for the opportunity and also to our friends at SpotMyPhotos for capturing attendees at their best! go MLR is the real pioneer weaving beauty + tech into live events. While we don't always get the recognition for being innovative, we are super grateful to leaders like Michela Giovannotto for giving us the platform to showcase our talent and experiences! Next up Shoptalk Fall in Chicago... where you can experience our new 'Smart Stations' for yourself! 👀

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of being interviewed by El Economista for an article exploring the challenges facing the construction industry during times of economic uncertainty, and the critical role technology plays in addressing them. I firmly believe that Building Information Modeling (BIM) and digital tools are invaluable assets during uncertain times. They not only help mitigate risk and optimize workflows (leading to improved profit margins) but also strengthen our competitive edge in an already demanding industry. You can read the article (and my insights) here: https://lnkd.in/emfUFyYG
