Projects

  • Varidada-audio (online music production and mixing platform)

    · Participated in developing the back-end server of an online music production and mixing platform by using Python to parse the JSON file passed from front-end, retrieve and process mp3 files, finally generate a mixed mp3 file passing to front end.

  • Crowd Sourcing Engineering Tasks Platform

    -

    · Participated in developing an online platform for crowd sourcing engineering tasks that was prototyped by Topcoder.com.
    · Designed and built MySQL database for this platform, completed a backend server based data query process in Java; Used KNN algorithm to analyze the data from Topcoder.com to estimate the prices of tasks.

  • Extended Tic-Tac-Toe Game ( User defined rule, board size, Multi-player)

    -

    · Implemented a extended Tic-Tac-Toe Game in C++, in which users can define game rule (this means users can define how many pieces in a line or forming a full square is a winning), board size, player number, save and resume game. Used DFS algorithm in the winner-check step which improved the performance.
    · Actually, the original requirements of this project are not hard. But it can be optimized and extended to machine learning and AI. So lots of algorithms can be used. I'm still working on…

  • FTP Tool

    -

    · Completed the implementation of a simple FTP-like server and client in Java, which can upload and download by using TCP sockets and bind the client to the server.

  • Online music player based on www.music.baidu.com

    -

    · Developed a online music player using QT. The UI is implemented by QML and network, file reading and writing modules are implemented by C++.

  • Query processing engine for multi-dimentional queries

    -

    · Defined an extension to SQL syntax that allows succinct representation of various aggregate queries, and proposed a new relational algebra operation that concisely represents several level of aggregation over the same groups in an operand relation.
    · Developed a query processing engine for multi-dimensional queries based on the extension we defined. Implemented it in Java by using Bitmap algorithm.

    · The optimized algorithm performance is linear and reduces query time more than 65% when table size is over 4000 rows.

  • Study and realization of Line-based Face Recognition and Indexing Algorithm

    -

    · Designed a fast and simplified algorithm for Line-based Face Recognition and Indexing Algorithm which can extract the feature lines, by calculating length angle and other parameter of these lines to model and recognize faces.

Honors & Awards

Head Office of China Construction Bank

One of 5 excellent new employees chosen from 78 new employees in 2012.

  • Chinese National Patent

    Chinese National Patent Office

    · Collaborated with Professor Wuliang Yin and got acquainted with COMSOL, finite difference methods, finite element analysis to find the most optimization process in EM sensor design.
    · The related research-method and apparatus for the detection of foreign bodies under human skin using electromagnetic sensing was awarded a Chinese National Patent. A paper has been written based on this model and published.
