Hive CPQ is introducing a new term: "CPQ vibing" CPQ vibing, derived from the term 'code vibing', is a term for AI-assisted CPQ development where a CPQ model builder provides high-level, natural language instructions to an AI, and the AI generates the CPQ model. The model builder then interacts with the AI to refine and iterate on the code, often focusing on the overall goal rather than writing or debugging each line/rule/constraint themselves. Coined by Hive CPQ in early 2025, the practice represents a shift from traditional, line-by-line modelling to a more conversational and high-level workflow with an AI "model building buddy".

Salesforce Customization: Why One Size Doesn’t Fit All When it comes to Salesforce implementation, customization isn’t just about technology it’s about aligning with business realities. We often see that customization becomes essential when a client’s business processes are highly dynamic or operate across multiple regions. Take the logistics industry as an example. Every country operates under different rules, regulations, and compliance standards. A courier company functioning globally must adapt its workflows to local conditions from documentation laws to customs processes. That’s where Salesforce customization plays a vital role. It’s not about changing the platform for the sake of it; it’s about adapting it to match evolving business rules, regional compliance, and currency transactions. In global enterprises, no two regions are identical. While one country might need a regulatory compliance layer, another might require adjustments in tax or payment logic. Ultimately, customization depends on how standardized or variable a company’s processes are across regions or departments. The more dynamic the processes, the greater the need for thoughtful customization not just technical configuration, but strategic alignment with the business model. So before we code, we analyze. Phase 2: BC Integration to Salesforce We’ve moved into Phase 2 of our Business Central (BC) to Salesforce integration project. Phase 1 established the core foundation — integrating customers (accounts), contacts, sales quotes, and sales orders. This allowed Salesforce to manage customer communications for pending quotes, order readiness, and more. Phase 2 takes it further by adding: -Posted Sales Invoices -Posted Sales Credit Memos -Customer Ledger Entries With this enhancement, Salesforce now will hold all collections and aging information, enabling it to fully own communication with customers around payments and balances. Technical Update: For the integration, the Azure stack was chosen as the middleware. While a direct BC-to-Salesforce connection could work, it would cause BC to fail transactions immediately in case of a Salesforce issue and also slowing down BC processing. By using Azure: - BC sends transactions with basically 100% success, - Azure handles delivery to Salesforce asynchronously, - When there are issues in Azure, it will now email us automatically on any failed transfers. We’ve improved error handling for these rare issues — mainly due to Salesforce connectivity or BLOB storage when sending PDF files. When Azure retries can’t resolve the issue, an email is sent out, and then we are able to handle and resend from BC. This project enables our client to more fully leverage the Salesforce capabilities, while keeping the BC processing simple and efficient.

Most badge scanning apps treat Salesforce like an afterthought. Export a CSV. Email it to someone. Import it later. Hope the field mapping works. We just shipped Smart Capture v1.8 to Ireland, the UK, and Australia on iOS and Android. It writes directly to Salesforce Contacts and Accounts. Not to a temporary database. Not to a spreadsheet. Directly into the system of record. We made a deliberate call here. We didn’t build a generic lead scanner that “integrates” with 15 CRMs. We built a Salesforce-native scanner that understands your existing objects, required fields, and data model.
